hmmm... So, a 250 pound man would have to be careful since the stepping up and potential bouncing temporarily adds even more weight. And such a man wouldn't be able to carry much weight with him to put up on a roof rack.300#
That is interesting. The Rivian Website says 300:It's actually a 250 pound limit, not 300.
From the manual
Yeah, I had always heard 300 lbs prior to when the manual came out. Don't know why it changed. That is interesting. The Rivian Website says 300:
That’s what it says, though insideevs podcast and review shows himself stepping up and down and he seems to be around 250hmmm... So, a 250 pound man would have to be careful since the stepping up and potential bouncing temporarily adds even more weight. And such a man wouldn't be able to carry much weight with him to put up on a roof rack.
Great! So now, in addition to saving up to afford one of these, I need to lose 40 pounds!
Or you know how every person who is XL sized thinks they wear LargeCapacity is probably engineered to 300lbs.
Manual states 250 for human margin of error.
Excellent point. Either way, it may make sense for larger people and anyone lifting heavy objects onto the roof, when possible, to actually put one foot into the tunnel itself so some weight is distributed there instead of onto the gear tunnel hinge. And the closer to the hinge the second foot can be, maintaining a safe standing posture, the better.I'd be willing to bet that it's limited by the moment applied to the hinge. If I were to hazard a guess, the 250 lbs would be at the far end of the door from the truck when the door is open. Hugging close to the door should have a lot more capacity. I'd be pretty surprised if it was limited by shear.
