I love the Altos, and think the extra window space is fantastic in the retractable. The aerodynamic benefit is questionable, but considering the extra headspace and the storage abilities, I don't think that's a game changer.

I will be towing my Airstream 22' Sport with my R1T. I've been towing it with a Tesla MX for 4.5 years.

Yeah. They have six models now Including 2 retractables. They’re built to order and have about an 18 month wait.
So I will definitely get it before I get my Rivian. Awesome! ;)

I love this thread. There are so many of these companies out there making these things. Great fun to explore.

I agree. This thread is just positive and cool info on how we will use our Rivians. Side note, I am huge in research and this is my current list of campers that I have been looking at that might help others:

I can see the conversation with my wife now. “Good news, I only spent $75k on my new electric truck. Bad news, I spent another $75k on my camper…” These look crazy cool though.

My current 'oh this' and the justification is 'it's only half the cost of the truck' is the Patriot X3, looks like I could get my hands on one in late 2022 before the truck is available

Combined with the tent/kitchen on the truck, I could drag along all six of us just fine. What kept me from enjoying camping too long is I couldn't justify to myself a daily driver that could tow the big things that I needed for the large family. I'm probably oddball here but <25 MPG vehicles I just didn't want to pump out the CO2 for a daily driver since the early 2000s.

Older kids not liking to go outdoors + electric truck I won't be against driving daily? sign me up. Drag something like that to a beach or into the Appalachians? yes please.
