Then you should be seriously questioning Tesla's business model. Musk claims that you can buy a $25k robotaxi that will generate $30k in profit per year. If this is true, then why on EARTH wouldn't Tesla go into the taxi business rather than selling their cars? They could generate FAR more revenue by operating the service themselves, but instead they're going to let the cars go for a fraction of their lifetime profit potential?I would rather own stock in a company with double digit growth and double digit profit margin, than a company with negative growth and/or negative profit margin.
Number of units sold is not the only consideration in the company's value.
