Just ordered a set of 20" wheels and once they're close to being ready I'll be purchasing these in "SL". I'll still hold on to my 22" setup (possibly for road trips). I know I've seen it before but are the 20's with 275/65's the same overall diameter as the 22's with 275/50's?

IIRC, it's the 275/60R20 that's the same 33" diameter as the original 21s and 22s. The 275/65R20 is a 34" diameter tire as the OE 20s came with.

hmmm, thanks for the quick repsone. I know we are going to get the ability to change our own tire size as some point. I guess the question is 33" or 34", what's the best choice?

I had a set of the Toyo Open Country A/T III (EV SL) tires installed 2 days ago to replace our factory Pirellis which had almost 30k miles on them. With less than 100 miles on the Toyos I can’t say much about efficiency or tread life, but the noise/vibration reduction is immense compared to the Pirellis. It is such an improvement that I’m annoyed with myself for waiting so long to replace the Pirellis.

275/65R20 (aka factory AT, off-road package): 34.1"
275/55R21 (gen 1 "Road"): 32.9"
275/50R22 (gen 1 "Sport"): 32.8"
275/60R20 (gen 2 "All Season", Goodyear Territory AT RIV): 33"

Thanks for posting - I'm just over 27K miles and those are the exact tires I'm planning to purchase. The mobile tech who did our battery replacement a month ago commented on how good our 20's looked for our mileage, but I know I'll be needing them by the end of the summer.

I’ll post updates when I have meaningful experience with them. Part of the reason I waited so long was analysis paralysis and I am glad to help other looking for data: good or bad. I went with these because Rivian recently endorsed TireRack.com and when I went to their site the only two options with the stock size was the original Pirellis and this Toyo. Given how unhappy I was with the Pirelli noise level, I figured I’d try these.

Thanks - I've seen a bunch of posts about the LT version, but the off-roading my wife will permit in HER truck is limited to the occasional gravel road, so I don't need the beefier LT. What tire pressure are you running with the SL's?

America’s Tire (Discount Tire outside California) did the installation and inflated to the stock 48 PSI. I am going to leave it there for a while.

Update 2 (750 mi)

efficiency 2.15 mi/kWh. My guess is that as the weather here in CO warms and I get more miles on the tires it will surpass the 2.2 mi/kWh of the OEM over 17k miles. Fantastic tire off road and on snow/ice so a great option for Colorado drivers. Road noise is consistent with an AT tire but much lower frequency than the Pirelli.

edit: these are LT version

Colorado driver on the SL 275/65’s - about 1300 miles on them in town and in the mountains. Efficiency is about the same if not a little better?

Comfort, handling and noise in all conditions are immensely better than the OEMs ever were. Snow traction is greatly improved as well - so much so that fresh 2-4” I don’t even flip on snow mode if it’s powdery. Slides are predictable - and have a LOT more lateral grip than the Pirellis. Very happy to make the switch.

I’m now getting 2.17 avg. on Firestone DESTINATION AT 275-65-20. 52 LBS. READ FAST OR I MAY ME TAKEN OFF OF RIVIAN forum. Could be a political post.

Happy to share for reference.
At 2000 miles, swapped out the stock Pirelli's. Perfectly good - just NOT my tire of choice. Now 15 months and 32,000 miles later, mostly Highways or in town, running strong at 2.18 miles/kWh... These are not the newer 3 Mountain Peaks but they have been great in the Colorado weather between Glenwood Springs and Denver. Much quieter that the stock, good ride and grip the road. Light off roading without a worry. Later this summer or before the next snow season, I will upgrade to the newer Toyo Open Country with the 3 Peak Mountain Snowflake rating. I am wearing the 275/50R22's on the Dark Sport Wheels.
