Towing tech in SUV

I am curious about the tow tech they are planning. There have been advances in backup technology helpful for towing, ie auto reverse or “invisible trailer”. Any info on this?

I'd like to see telescoping side view mirrors. I've asked several Rivian employees about it, but they're all mum. ‍

I tow quite a bit & feel like a lot of the newer towing tech is gimmicky. IMO, you shouldn't be towing if you don't know proper trailer safety & have practiced backing a trailer. Technology can enable people that are probably not properly prepared, and trailers can be dangerous...I've seen it too many times.

I will say that backup cameras changed my life for connecting bumper pulls by myself, and I wish my truck had the bed view camera for gooseneck & 5th wheel connections.

I also have extendable mirrors, but actually prefer them in, even with my large 5th wheel. I do have an aftermarket rearview camera for the 5th wheel & it works great; however, it's still mirrors & general awareness I use when on the road, but camera comes in handy for backing up into tight situations.

Any R1S people taking full size spare with them when towing? If yes, where do plan to keep it?

Based on what they've demoed, thus far, Rivian camera tech appears to be severely lacking. I wouldn't hold my breath for any "invisible trailer" features.
