The really insane thing is that the truck is capable of mid 11's and has a 175k mile warranty on the powertrain components at that level. They are definitely capable of a lot more if ever unlocked.

Totally agree, the trap speed shows that Rivian is holding it back on the big end. Perhaps for good reason, thermal or otherwise

Totally agree, the trap speed shows that Rivian is holding it back on the big end. Perhaps for good reason, thermal or otherwise

Likely holding back on the least common denominator on wheel/tire packages. The 20" AT tires are only speed rated for 112 MPH while the 21" & 22" are rated for 130 MPH. Would be nice if this was configurable.

I paid for all 835 ponies and would like to experience the Full Monty. This truck has the potential to trap almost another 10mph faster which would also drop the ET. I usually mod my ICE vehicles with a turbo or supercharger just because faster is always better imho

Congratulations! Hope you didn't get any damage since page 16 of the warranty guide lists racing as an action that voids warranty!

Racing is organized competition with scoring. Test n tune and informal autox are not racing.

I wish the speedometer was accurate. Its off 3mph at 80. Assuming when its showing 114 its really hitting 110. GPS shows the difference, however the odometer is accurate, so it seems intentional.

I was seeing about 5% faster on the speedo vs phone GPS. I never noticed the 110 limit because that is as fast as I ever wanted to go.

I hit 115 on speedometer before the finish line where it just stopped accelerating but my recorded speed was 110. guessing speedometer is off 5mph. When I ordered this on November 26, 2018 was told top speed was 125.
