The transaction, the introduction, the truck...as flawless as it could be. I love it! It's crazy cool...first EV and I'm already catch crap from some friends, especially those who ask how I'm driving from Dallas to Chama, NM to elk hunt in it...LOL! I'm certain it can be down, but that's not why I bought.

Electrician is at my house right now adding a 50A circuit for the Tesla Lvl 2 charger I bought. As it turned out, the existing 220v, 30A on the side of my house was a bit suspect. Its worth the $800 to do it right.

I want to thank everyone again who weighed in on tires, chargers and general questions. Of all the enthusiast interweb sites, I've found this one, and Rivian people in general, very helpful and supportive of the brand and new people. I see more excitement around the brand and the platform than I do complaints which is somewhat unusual in the world. Thats a lot of the reason I decided to dive in!

Let the adventure begin!

Congrats, I was surprised how few I see up in Dallas compared to down in Austin. You’re going to love it, I can make it from here to an office in Richardson no problem w/o charging with the large pack. Looks like you have good options to get to Chama through Amarillo 😉

Congratulations on your new delivery! I love my Rivian (and EVs broadly), so I get the enthusiasm all around. Now that it's official, I recommend joining your local Rivian Clubs of America chapter (which I am guessing in the North Texas Rivian Club for you). Rivian Clubs of America is a great organization.

Rivian Forum Pro Tip: be prepared for the "if there aren't any pictures, it didn't really happen" messages here shortly. Post a couple of your new baby and it will quiet the masses.

I came here for pictures.

Can we share pictures of the R1S you took delivery of?

The upgraded 50 Amp line will be well worth it for the R1S.

Make sure to join the local lonestar facebook / rivian owners club for Rivian community events that happen in DFW / Austin like off-roading, camping, beach clean-up, monthly meets, etc.

So right! Spending that much money only to do a less than ideal charger setup is no bueno.

Haven't lived in Dallas for over a decade, but I would bet money hitting the DNT in a Rivian in Sport mode would be spectacular.

My entire R1T Tri experience has been phenomenal. Most people who come up to me to ask about it are friendly and very curious and impressed. Only a handful have been EV hostile to the point of psychotic irrationality. My neighbor was a Chevy salesman for decades and he's totally blown away and wants to buy o R1S now. Rivian is definitely going EVs right in every way. I've been all over SoCal and Arizona with my Tri and it's been outstanding on pavement or dirt. Drive well.

Congrats! Without pics (not AI ones), it didn't happen.

Is it too late to put in a 60A circuit? Then you can run a 220v, 48A charger, which will definitely reduce your charging times.

There are lot of us in Dallas. Always up to meet other Rivian fans for a cold or hot beverage. DM me if you want to connect.

Enjoy your new ride!

Like Daytripping mentioned above- is there a reason you went 50a instead of 60a? The Tesla wall connector is rated for 60 fyi. Anyways, congrats on the Rivian

Yeah, not sure why I typed 50A...it's a 60A.

40A is about the minimum circuit for care free over night charging with the size of these batteries. Most car EVs can get by with less. The 60A will be pretty future proof unless you are planning on something that can handle a 100A 19kw circuit.
