Took delivery of my R1S at South San Francisco Service Center

Went to pickup my R1S yesterday at Rivian South SF. There must be over 50 R1T and R1S in the lots and the shop, mostly new and to be picked up. The delivery specialist told me that the location wasn't intended to be a delivery site but it turned out to be. Only one bad experience... no coffee in the waiting area. Sam, the delivery specialist told me that RJ said the same two weeks ago when he was there. They are actually expending the area to be more customer friendly.

What is your pre order date? I am from Bay Area too and been waiting patiently for delivery I was also hoping to schedule a test drive for R1T at SFO center and in the process see a few R1S' in person.

My pre order date was in the middle of the pack; I was surprised that they gave me an Aug/Sep date. My configurations and location must fit the car's profile.

How long did it take from train arrival to ready for delivery? Mine (blue R1T) is due via train next ~Monday and I will also pick up from SSF service center.

I got the configuration confirmation email Tuesday last week and completed steps 1-6 the same day. I contacted the guide (sorry to say, not very useful) and he said it would take 6-8 weeks; he also said the car was still in the factory (but didn't say where factory). I wasn't expected it so soon but got a call from the delivery specialist this Tuesday and scheduled the pickup on Thursday (I guess I could wait for delivery to my home if I wanted... but who wants to wait, right?). I'm glad that I gather the money proactively and didn't wait for the scheduling call. It took only 10 days for the entire process with the car in hands... it was a very very nice experience.

Interesting. Does the VIN match between when you started steps 1-6 and your actual vehicle? It would be amazing if the vehicle went from factory (Normal, IL) to SSF in 1-week.

Yes, they do match! I have a feeling that the car was already in SSF (or at least on its way) when my 8-step process started.

I'm in SF on a business trip and meetings end pretty early this afternoon. Is the SSF service center one you can show up to and see vehicles? Online it looks like there is a lobby etc. I would LOVE to see a R1S in person.

While we were there, a guy walked up and asked for a First Mile experience. I saw that a rep was showing him a R1T but not sure if he went for a test drive.
