Tonneau Redesign Ready???

I just dropped off my R1T at the Boston service center to a Driver+ issue addressed, and the service advisor told me that they had a new, redesigned tonneau cover in for me, and it would be getting installed!

I'll report more next week when I get it picked up. Anybody else seen evidence of these in the wild?

I think this is just a middle-state repair and that the actual new new design has yet to be decided.

it’ll be interesting to see… they told me a couple weeks ago they were only able to lock it full open or full closed and wouldn’t be doing any repairs until they have a final fix… maybe crossed wires?

There was another thread on this that said the tonneau in it's newest form is revision 8 or 9 or something like that. The SC is likely giving you an updated tonneau, but not the exclusive "the updated" tonneau.

Saw a post here? Reddit? Somewhere… a while Ago where someone was booked in for tonneau replacement and the service centre told them it was 1 of 30 redesigned units in the country.… perhaps they’re doing some testing

I wouldn’t be surprised if they have, say, 5 candidate designs and they’re randomly deploying them to customers in different regions to see how they hold up.

The person who checked me in just said it was a new part number they haven’t seen before.

Interesting! I remembered seeing a part number in the Munro teardown video. wonder if -G1 means a revision

I think that the 1 just came over in my copy/paste from the quantity column… so looks like number is the same, at least on my repair order… maybe the actual part is different? Or the revisions don’t show up in the part number and are tracked separately?
