My delivery window for my r1s was Oct, 2023. My Rivian guide called ,and somebody canceled one having the exact configuration.
I asked my Rivian guide questions that somebody drove and returned it due to some issues.
He answered, "No, it has a new VIN ", so I purchased it.

My R1S had 20 mile when I picked it up. The VIN was recognized as new. I just ignored the painting stuffs because I realized it was in a wheel at the time.

While reviewing my R1S with my coworkers, my Indian coworker and friend pointed out the four tires attached to my r1s.
As shown in the images, each tire has a red dot, and two have a solid yellow line.
He told me that that is like an Indian lucky charm for a new car.

After posting, many dudes told me that it is for balancing marks, LOL.
After listening to what he said, it is like superstition-like cham.
I believe in Jesus and His Father. I was not uncomfortable.
He is a very good software engineer. LOL.

LMAO. Your friend/coworker has no idea what he's talking about. I guess we're all driving around pre-owned vehicles driven by indians.

All tires are slightly off balance. It's just not possible to make it perfect which is why you have your wheels balanced each time new tires are mounted.

The red dot Indicates where the largest off balance point is located. By aligning the red dot opposite to the wheels most off-balance point, the wheel can be balanced more easily.

Lmao, those paint spots are used for calibration. I had my VIN 4 weeks before delivery and it had 20 miles. Pretty sure those are testing miles.

Seriously???
And to your point #3 maybe it’s time to be more open minded.

My dude, those marks are simply used for tire balancing.

I‘ve concluded 3 things from your post:
- You need better friends
- You need a more open mind on religions
- You need Google
I am open min on religion. I do not like superstition-like charms. LOL.

He told me that that is like an Indian lucky charm for a new car.

It indicated that an Indian customer purchased, drove for a while, and returned it along with the return policy.
I am disappointed that
1. The Rivian guide told me that it was canceled before driving:
It would be a lie. The tires, maybe with the body, were used by someone.
2. Rivian delivered it without removing the paint spot or replacing it with new ones:
I wonder if they are not taking care of their customer.
some new customers would have mileage before breaking the cancelation policy.
3. I believed in Jesus and His Father:
Having a lucky charm from another religion is uncomfortable after I learned what It means.

I am a Rivian lover and a Rivian investor.
I found several other issues and reported. them
As an early customer owning the launch edition, I tried to understand those.
I like to help Rivian improve their productivity with good quality.
I hope the Rivian management team cares for all customer reports for a bright future.

It's not! I am Indian and I have no idea what he is talking about.
As long as you don't have lemon and chillies hanging in the front, or a big dent from someone cracking open a coconut on the hood, you are ok.
