Yikes, that really, how you say? Blows. Perhaps towing backwards is more safe.Carrier was bringing my truck to the Bellevue SC for maintenance.

There are a few options in the console related to different situations the truck might be under. Two in particular are wash mode and ship/transport mode. I am not certain but either one of these could have potentially reduce the chance of an accidental openingCarrier was bringing my truck to the Bellevue SC for maintenance.

I think I have you beat - I was on my honeymoon for 2 weeks, the day we got home, we took the R1T out to get dog food, and the hood latch warning came on when we tried to come home...called service, as it was in turtle mode (13 mph limit). I tried everything they asked, but the hood would not latch....Carrier was bringing my truck to the Bellevue SC for maintenance.

Who could be dumb enough that has the least bit of experience towing to not know that the truck‘s suspension will still move up and down as the vehicle is being transported. They should be terminated or at least have to pay the repair costs out of their paycheck.I think I have you beat - I was on my honeymoon for 2 weeks, the day we got home, we took the R1T out to get dog food, and the hood latch warning came on when we tried to come home...called service, as it was in turtle mode (13 mph limit). Long story short, 2 days later a 3rd party tow service picked my truck up from my driveway while I was at work, and strapped the hood down. The truck did not arrive in Richmond (closest service center) until the next day. I was convinced someone had stolen my truck, as I could see its location on my app, and it was an hour south of me, yet the service center is 2 hours north, and it sat there all night. That next day, after it arrived at the service center, the service manager called and said he fixed the hood latch (replaced) and took the tannau slats all out (we had agreed on that until the tannau redesign was available), and fixed the tailgate not opening without help. However, there was DAMAGE on the hood, both fenders and the molding above the tires on both fenders! My stomach dropped, and he said he thought that it was a transport issue, but when the tow company dropped the truck off, they didn't have any straps on the hood, so he didn't notice until he started working on the truck, and the tow company didn't say a word. When inspecting the pictures later, I could see that they used ratchet straps, and tied it to the flat bottom of the tow trailer...
That was July 14. The body repair shop was 6 weeks behind schedule. On 8/19, I drove to Richmond (2 hours) to get my truck after all the work had been done, instead of waiting for it to be towed back to me. I did get a loaner R1T for 3/4 of the time, which was great, but it wasn't my truck, and only had the credit card key....I am glad I don't have to use those all the time anymore.
The repair work was good, however, the hood alignment is a bit off and the weather stripping was bent and hung out a bit over the passenger headlight (which my wife noticed first)...We discussed it with the service manager, who said he was going to order another piece and have his mobile mechanic come out to replace when it arrived.
The service center was great, as was the phone center, but rivian needs to fix the issue with 3rd party towing...and I really would like to have some ppf installed over the replaced hood and fenders!
To be fair, driving a flatbed truck has a pretty low bar for entry but even then this is pretty bad. You'd think they'd at least be decent at knowing how to secure something without damaging it.Who could be dumb enough that has the least bit of experience towing to not know that the truck‘s suspension will still move up and down as the vehicle is being transported.
