After 846 days of waiting, today was the day my launch green R1S was delivered. Honestly, the car seems damn near perfect. Panel gaps are consistent. Bolts are tight.

The only issue I found after careful scrutiny was the plastic trim around the driver side rear wheel well. It was slightly loose and wiggled a little like a loose tooth. The other side was secure and didn't move at all. Very minor issue, but I'll have service look at it if/when something else comes up.

I drove it on two short local trips. Picked the kids up from school. They were super excited to be picked up in the new rivian. I definitely saw some parents checking it out.

I didn't have an opportunity to open it up on the highway yet. No weird squeaks or noises so far.

Knock on warm ash wood trim...so far so good.

Didn't have time to take proper photos, but here's what I have so far:

I think the loose plastic may be a manufacturing issue. Mine is the same way, little wiggle in it and it sticks out a little bit from the rest of the plastic. Not really a big deal, other than I would assume it is costing me a little bit of aero efficiency.

My theory is that rivian is delivering cars with the best margin first. I opted for the 21" wheels (for maximum range) rather than the free upgrade to premium wheels. And I also chose the forest edge interior. Just a guess as to why I got mine so soon. Or it could be my place in line in the New England queue. Who knows why rivian does what it does...



I did not order the spare tire. But a friend who did order the spare didn't receive one with his R1S delivery (his delivery was about 3 weeks ago).

I once subscribed to the margin theory, but my own delivery last November contradicts it. I had pre-March 2022 pricing and the free LE wheel upgrade.

Congratulations!! What checklist did you use during delivery?

I saved two different lists I found on a recent thread. I read through them before delivery, but I didn't have the lists during delivery. When I have some time, I'll go over both lists to make sure I didn't miss anything.

I had a minute to take some photos this morning. So far I've taken off the aero covers and popped in the oem rivian inserts. I thought I wasn't going to like the 21" wheels, but I actually really like the way they look.

Agree. I am not a fan of FE (personal taste) but it looks really great in combo with the Launch Green. Congrats.
