After purchasing and installing this product I have to strongly recommend against it. While the material quality is high, there are several critical flaws. The Ev support did not care at all for my polite take, so posting this in hope that it will save others $$$$ and maybe they'll fix their product. Flaw 1: it's way too thick, taking a whopping 5" off the tunnel floor, unnecessarily as most of it is empty space. This means the widest part of tunnel is gone, and you cannot fit anything anymore (forget even a small ICECO 20 fridge, or gym locker bag). Flaw 2: you must install both sides otherwise it'd flip, so you can't even have one side unencumbered, and you only get half a sled each way so it won't do things like kitchen well. Flaw 3: it is incredibly heavy, like half a sled can barely be lifted by one person. Flaw 4: the black surface is very slippery and easy to scratch.

Meanwhile, The truck's flap is completely unused, when it can take 250lbs and the sled could easily rest on it about 1.25" lower. It would have made the sled so much lighter and then items would have likely fit. Anyway after just painfully installing this heavy thing, realizing how useless it is, and reaching out politely to their support, I was summarily dismissed, saying that it's unreturnable after install. I even offered to drop it off at their warehouse with everything in order... no store credit nothing. Just told me to read their description better next time as they have a diagram with dimensions: except that diagram DOES NOT SHOW IT TAKES 5 INCHES OFF THE TUNNEL. Bottom line this is only useful if you're 100% converting to a working truck with tooling!

Edgy42, I am sorry your experience wasn't better, let me try and help! While some suggestions you mention sound great, I think some confusion here is that those ideas are not reasonably physically possible. We are also constrained by Rivian build variance in door height - the very issue that makes many other sleds virtually inoperable. Nevertheless, the customer is always right! We did our best to describe it thoroughly and post videos of it operating - but if you're not satisfied, let's make it right and keep you happy. If you would like to return it for a credit or refund, I will be sure that you're accommodated accordingly.

1: Good luck finding anything that is lower, that's the minimal height to utilize the pre drilled frame holes and have it actually slide.
2: I don't understand this complaint, you're describing the sled. Yes you have to install both, that's how it works.
3: Don't skip leg day! And quit lifting with your back. I just pulled mine out yesterday for Rivian service to access a wiring harness, I was able to squat down holding both ends together. Also, follow the online video and ask a friend to help.
4: Well yeah, it's painted metal...

Sounds like buyer's remorse - which is fine, but don't blame the company for your change of heart. They even just offered to allow you to return it for a refund which is counter to what you posted. I can also vouch for the build variance in the R1T gear tunnel - which makes some of your complaints unreasonable given that they are just trying to produce a product for the masses. Anyhow, just my 2 cents. I have found this company to be insanely easy to work with and reputable. They even had one of their engineers reach out to me on a weekend via FaceTime to help with said build variances. Hope you fine something else that makes you happy.

It sounds like you're working this out with the vendor, which is good. Just for a point of clarification, what do you mean by "the truck's flap"? I'd be idly curious if you could post a picture? Especially if you could hold a tape measure so we can see where the "5 inches is wasted"?

Not asking to criticize, I'm hoping to buy this (or a similar product) someday and want to set expectations, LOL. 😄

I’m looking to buy this and was disappointed to see that maybe it wasn’t so great. is the quality not what I was expecting or something? Nope. Pretty much everything you’ve stated here was already known by me. You sound like you didn’t even look at a photo of this thing. I mean just LOOK at it, it’s obvious that the bottom is thick. I wish it were thinner too, but it just isn’t and it’s obvious in the photos (They did throw a drawer in there to add some extra utility though). Similarly, any install articles or videos show the weight and necessity to install both sides.

Honestly, the only concern you raise that is news to anyone looking at this is that it might scratch easily. But given the nature of the rest of your post, and the fact I haven’t heard much of that from anyone else, I’m willing to disregard.

Any chance you are willing to give a discount on just the sled for those of us who don't have a use for the drawers?

@EV Sportline , the slider I received last week and just opened have dents on both sleds. Order #18351. I sent you pictures. I just test fitted the sleds and noticed when sliding out they are hitting against the tunnel doors on the door latches. They need to be shimmed about 1/8" to clear the latches. My gear tunnel doors are well aligned with the body from the factory. My truck is Gen 2 Tri-Motor just received last week.

Okay, we'll need to file a freight claim on the dents - and get you the shim kit - did you contact us already? Emailing [email protected] is the fastest way!
