The ride quality even with the new update is still much more firm than most full size SUVs, so they aren't wrong to complain about it as I think most people coming from conventional cars will find it too stiff. I still tell my friends who are thinking about buying one that the suspension just isn't for everybody.

That being said, I live down a dirt road with a lot of pot holes, and my Gen 1 R1S is incredibly smooth at any speed on that surface.

I also found it interesting that most reviewers ding Rivian for not having Carplay or Android Auto, yet nobody seems to complain much about Tesla not offering those either.

"I didn't take the time to familiarize myself with the vehicle, nor did I allow it to connect to anything in order for it to run correctly, so I'm going to complain about everything I didn't bother to enable.

Bonus

"I'm going to run the vehicle exclusively in Sport Mode / Lowest / Firm, and then complain about how stiff the suspension is"

Amazingly they ran it in Conserve / Standard / Soft briefly and said it was good, before dumping it back into sport to continue ranting.

Nailed it. One of the worst, least informed reviews I’ve ever watched. Stopped it halfway through. Terrible.

I am pretty disappointed in the quality of product research prior to production of this video. The vehicle access complaints are completely valid. The fob, card, and PAAK should all operate just like any other keyless entry, Rivian has over complicated this. The rest of the video is garbage.

It takes about 3 minutes to set up a PaaK (once you already have the Rivian app). What is the big deal?

IMO my R1T has an extremely comfortable ride. Of course, lowering the height decreases suspension travel and reduces how much it can absorb imperfections. Of course. Any car person would know that. At standard height and soft setting, it is amazing.

In response to a comment on the video they claimed to have tried all of the drive modes but I ain’t buying it or they just have poor editing to leave that critical part out of the video. Granted, I don’t have my R1S yet I did test drive both a Gen2 R1T and R1S just over a month ago and ran thru all of the suspension modes in All Purpose and the suspension felt perfectly OK to me but I haven’t driven a BMW or Mercedes before for comparison. I also test drove an R1S with 20” ATs vs the 22” they had. But Jakub’s comment that the suspension being so bad it’s a deal breaker while they stayed in conserve and sport modes pretty much squashed any respect I had for the guy. I think he is also the one who put the Ford Raptor on a pedestal above everything else so there’s that. The fact that Jakub also kept flooring it out of the blue was pretty damn annoying. It’s one thing to test out acceleration but drive the thing like an average human being for a review man. I feel like he just comes across as coming into this review with a closed mind and
