I started to tap out a reply asking why not take it to the max and say, pulled into a charging station at 92% SOC and it took longer than three minutes to …. But then thought, F it!

Come on, most wouldn’t pull in above 40% on a long haul, but rather when less than 20%. 🤣
I get @sub 's point, I had to charge to 95% in Smelterville to get to Kalispell in 0°F with 20mph headwind and icy roads going 45mph, but I'd rather spend 8 more minutes people watching in Walmart once a year than $250 on inserts I need to take off once a week when I off-road. Break-even point, as generous as I was, doesn't have me convinced. I'm opting to try some AS tires next instead.

I think 20 mi miles of extra range, for only $250 is a fabulous deal.

Max pack costs $10k and gets you about 60 mi of extra range. That is $166 per mile so to get that extra 20 miles of range by increasing battery size would be more than $3,300.

A max of 20 miles claimed but with no actual supporting evidence.

From someone who’s Tesla battery pack fully discharged 1 mile from a charger, hours from a major metro area, and lost an entire day waiting on a tow truck (AAA-sourced, as Tesla roadside service said they can only assist in major metro areas), I’ll take every extra mile I can possibly get.

Correct, these are injection molded, polymer with reinforcement. Definitely not 3D printed!

Our goal is to reduce the 'range loss' Rivian reports (40 mi) from these wheels. Keep in mind, that loss is partially from the tire too - not just the wheel, so cutting the 40 mi down to 20 mi is a home run!
As someone who has taken multiple road trips with the 20”s I would have gladly taken an extra 10-20 miles more of range just to make it to my destination or even to a “furtherer” DCFC. However wouldn’t covering all the openings, like the 21”s, give it the best chance of range improvement? I assume it wouldn’t need brake cooling much since regen does most of the braking. That’s the one I’d buy without second guessing.

At 7% efficiency improvement and 80/20 split on home/fast charging (and some generous rounding), break-even cost savings at $250 is 50k miles. Fast charging extra time for 20 miles is under 3 minutes.

Food for thought
The value proposition is greater distance, not less cost or less time.
