I'd be interested in this option, too! If you make some inserts glossy black, it would match the glossy black insets on both AT Dark and Bright wheels. Please consider and keep us posted!

At 7% efficiency improvement and 80/20 split on home/fast charging (and some generous rounding), break-even cost savings at $250 is 50k miles. Fast charging extra time for 20 miles is under 3 minutes.

Man if these get me 20 miles back that is very close to what the 21" wheels would get me and I don't have to change before road trips and at a fraction of the price. Can't wait to see if folks get 20 miles of range back!

@EV Sportline I’d actually prefer a black color vs gray, so that they fade into the background. My opinion is they make the wheels look kinda goofy / weak in gray … like the Tesla Model 3 aero wheels.

10-20 is a big range, anything a little more specific? What was the average range gain? How were they tested?

I just want to say I started a thread about the possibilities for aero covers for the 20 and 22 wheels months ago and many on here were dismissive as to weather it would be remotely useful to try.

@EV Sportline thank you for validating my intuitions with an actual product. Can’t wait to purchase the 22“ version when my R1T finally arrives (early reservation holder currently holding out for a working power tonneau).

1) That video showed they were kind of brittle. Have they been temperature cycle tested? Any details? How hot were they tested?

2) If I lose or damage one or two of the twenty, can they be replaced individually?

I don't think I agree with your math.

If as an example I needed to charge to 80% to get to the next stop with the inserts then without them I might need to charge to 87%.

It takes a lot more than 3 minutes to get from 80% to 87%.

I'm looking at staying in the sweet spot of the charging curve, but in your scenario, sure it's more.

That would be . 07*.8= 5.6% (remember it's not 7% battery gain, 7% efficiency gain), *125kWh /50kW (charging at that high on your curve)=.14*60 minutes= 8.4 minutes more of charging. Still not worth the gain, install, uninstall, losing pieces, etc to me.

I started to tap out a reply asking why not take it to the max and say, pulled into a charging station at 92% SOC and it took longer than three minutes to …. But then thought, F it!

Come on, most wouldn’t pull in above 40% on a long haul, but rather when less than 20%.
