Is there a problem with the Bosch motors?
They're not... BAD motors. But one big issue is thermal management. The cooling system is less direct than the in-house motors, so they tend to get way hotter, way quicker. But not an issue day to day.

The bigger issue is that they are outsourced - and Rivian wants to design the motors themselves to their own needs.

Makes sense. I haven't gone on any long road trips yet. I was hoping you weren't going to say anything frightening.

The other thing is about the "30 minutes of pre-conditioning". I haven't noticed that being plugged into L2 does ANYTHING when it is not actively charging. I stay connected to L2 90% of the time in the driveway, and I still take a huge eff hit when I start out.
The Count was wondering about that in the OP's post. WTH is L2 preconditioning? Is it a Gen2 thing? FWIW The Count's LE "large" pack will regularly go over 300 miles in range if it needs to.
