Took a 70 mile trip today, charged up to 85% then pre-conditioned for 30+ minutes on a Level 2 before heading off. Flat terrain, 22" Sport Brights, 50-51psi all around, <1,000 miles on the vehicle, All Purpose in either Low or Standard ride height (shifted to Low halfway through), 50-55 degrees ambient temps and about 1:45 travel time. Typical speeds were 35-55mph but tended towards the lower end which should have been near ideal conditions for a high-efficiency run. Real world? Not so much. Very disappointed in the Dual "Large"

How are others faring? I can't even imagine what range would be at highway speeds.

What's the conclusion (in non-video format)? I have a 23 quad with all terrains. I'll get 300 miles in ideal conditions. EDIT - to be clear, I am happy with this and expected it. I am not sure what the OP is getting cause I am not watching a random youtube video to find out).

109 kwh x 2.38 mi/kwh = 250-260 miles of real-world range on backroads / non-highway speeds in what should be ideal conditions running the pack from full to dead. Or a lot less than the 330 mi EPA claim.

Look, this is my fifth EV and I'm used to the old Tesla haircut on range, so that's not at all surprising. I expected real-world in these conditions would be closer to 300 miles of range or 2.7-2.8 mi/kwh of efficiency. I'm not sure this new "Large" pack is any better than the Standard LFP pack and it seems to be providing, at least in my n=1 case, a lot less range than the old Large pack of 131 kwh.

It seems that little message of the big range haircut didn't get shared widely in all the Gen 2 review videos that I've watched so I thought to share my real-world experience to see if its par for the course or an anomaly.

There are some slight effeciency gains in gen 2 over gen 1. That said - ultimately it's the same motors and (mostly the same) inverters as before. So efficiency gains are minimal.

I've got 13k miles on my Gen 2 Dual Performance Max. Real world in 50-70 degree weather I'm seeing 2.8-3 in the city, 2.5 highway.

IMHO the whole idea of the EPA "combined" rating is out of touch with reality. Sure you can get 400 miles in the city. But NOBODY is doing that! Unless you're in some super niche usecase, like doing uber, nobody is doing 400 miles of city driving in one sitting. That's just not a thing.

People only really care about range when they're road tripping on the highway. That's when it really matters

I don’t think that efficiency is too bad.
It's amazingly efficient when you compare it to my Wrangler 4xe that weighs 5,100lbs and goes only 23 miles on a 15kWh (usable) battery for a "worst in class" efficiency of 1.5mi/kWh 😆

I thought one of the headline changes between Gen 1 and Gen 2 was the switch from off-the-shelf Bosch motors to custom in-house Enduro motors?
They're referencing Enduro Gen 1 to Enduro Gen 2. both are dual motor setups. The Bosch were only on Gen 1 Quad. Gen 2 uses the in house Ascent motors.

Yes and no. Tri and quad are new in house motors. The Dual motor has always been enduro. It was only G1 quad that had bosch

The 4xe is really 1.5 mi/kwh???
On a good day, in cold temps it gets less than that o_O

"Aerodynamic Brick" I believe is the term they use when describing the Jeep's 1940's era design.
