Quick review on the tonneau cover from Tail Lidz.
Packaged nicely. 3 panels with a weather seal strip on one side. Definitely hand made and assembled, the corners are a little rough.

The sides and the corners do recess into the track, so you can't see the gaps / finish. The panels are light, but sturdy and are very snug in the rails. You have to really push them in to make sure the truck registers the tailgate is closed.

They will do a decent job of sealing just due to the pressure from the tailgate, but definitely not water proof.

Panels do fit in in the gear tunnel. They do look very good installed.

I would consider them over priced, but give the lack of options for us without the motorized (maybe broken) cover, they will do the job well and are solid.

Looks great, but for that price, the bad corner finish is a “return and refund”

Rivian should be offering an OEM manual bed cover soon. I’m hanging tight until then.
When is “soon”. Rivian has been using different variations of “coming soon” for a long time with no updates

Any other installs out there? Quality improvements?

I received mine a couple of days ago and it didn't suffer from the "hand fitted" corners. All three sections slid into the rails smoothly. It did get a light rain on it and checking that afternoon, the bed was completely dry so the seals seem to work. More rain is expected the remainder of the week here so I'll be able to check some more on the weather resistance.

I did note that the tailgate has to be slammed shut pretty forcefully to compress the seals on each of the sections. I don't consider this a negative as a dry bed is more important to me.

I have stuff like my off-road jack and recovery equipment in the gear tunnel because I didn't have secure storage in the bed which was a big bummer. If the Tail Lidz works out, then I will have a ton more cargo capacity.

I felt I had to go with this because Rivian keeps delaying their manual cover and I need secure storage for a long driving trip I'm planning this summer.

After a month and 2000+ miles, lots of rain, and trips through the carwash, these look like new and really keep the bed dry in wet conditions.
They definitely not dust proof, but most are not.

Give no other good option in a hard-ish cover, I am very happy with these.

Any new update now that it has been a few months?

I ordered a Tail LIdz and it came in a few days ago. Pics above of the packaging and corner fitment are representative of the one I received. I do wish the corners were a bit neater, but at the end of the day they will be under the rails in the bed and out of sight.

Although the covering looks nice, I'm not too sure how well it will stand up over time to the elements. One of the pictures above was the bottom side (with the white panels). My thought is if the covering starts to look bad, I'll try some spray-on bed liner material on the white side.

I pick up my R1T later today so so I don't know about the overall fit yet on the truck itself.

For almost 1/2 the price of the OEM cover, I figure this one is worth a try out as I can have it on day one of ownership, rather than the perpetual s00n...

I have about 9000 miles on the truck now and the cover still looks like the day I got it. I'm very happy with it, it has been very good at keeping out water as well.

I got mine yesterday. Looks great! Super tight fit. Took some encouragement to get the pieces to slide through the channel.
only issue im
Having is they seem to be a little too big. The tail gate sensor is saying the tailgate is open and I can’t slam it hard enough to show otherwise. If I take the last piece out shuts no problem.
I reached out to the company and hoping for a quick easy fix. I’m thinking if they just ship me 1 new panel that’s a tad smaller would solve the issue.
pics attached of tailgate shut with and without the cover so you can see the gap is larger with the cover.

i had the same problem so I removed the insulation strip closest to the tailgate and now the tailgate closes with no problem and after several car washes no water intrusion.

Okay maybe I will try that. I am talking to the company now and working through some possible solutions but so far no luck.
This, if it works, sounds much easier than dealing with a new panel etc and cost savings for the company.

I tried this out and still no luck. I may have to take another foam piece off another panel. Not sure how well it will hold up without it though so nervous to remove more.

Had the Same Problem, I reached out to the company and they responded quickly saying to make sure that you close it pretty hard, and that should do it as the piece against the cab needs to push into the space between the top plate and the weather sealing where the powered tonneau would go.
It took me a couple tries and yeah you really need to give it a hard close, but once it finds its place its easy to close afterwards. Make sure to have all the weather strips facing the back of the truck too.
