I’ve had a deposit down on this electric snowmobile almost as long as on my R1S. They also make a personal watercraft. In the future, an ATV / side-by-side.

We had a SkiDoo when I was a teen, when Pennsylvania used to have more regular snow fall than it does now. Looks good for local, casual use and perhaps fleet use at ski resorts. But there's little chance the hard core, long haul trail riders are going to even think about this.

I am about to put a preorder down on one of these. For me it would be local, casual use. Thinking about the Nomad model. Would just do short trails, maybe 2-3 hour rides. Seems like a 134km range performance model could muster that, right?

I would just be speculating but I'd be pretty surprised if they based their claims of range on summer temperatures

Per Taiga’s website: Taiga snowmobiles are equipped with an advanced thermal management system that is capable of either cooling or heating the battery pack in order to ensure it performs optimally. This way, Taiga snowmobile only lose 1-5% charge in extremely cold temperatures. Taiga’s systems have minimal vampire drain so that snowmobiles can be easily stored unplugged for several years.

Put in my preorder for a nomad last night! With a little (a lot of) luck my R1T and nomad will arrive before next winter.

Now that we're well into the next winter season... Anyone have movement on their taiga reservations? I've been considering getting a new sled but I can't get past how stinky gas sleds are.

Taiga delivered my Nomad to the nearest service provider, 900 miles away, in early December, and I was able get it home in Colorado myself, with some help from family, just after Christmas. First one in the state, as a few other Coloradans are still waiting for Taiga to arrange transport sometime in January. Enjoying it almost as much as my Rivian. Around 4 years from deposit to delivery for both. I’ll be able to report on vampire drain later this month.
