I'm honestly curious as to who is having this issue with their Rivians side mirrors?
I find the mirrors (especially when properly adjusted) to be more than adequate.

Further, Rivian's software roadmap includes 'blind spot' cameras. So, is this a solution trying to find a problem? Or are there individuals who are legitimately having near misses because of blind spot obstacles (even with properly adjusted mirrors)?

Discuss!
I'm not an owner of these mirrors but I did want to comment here.

Rivian mirrors are fine, plus we have some additional tech features to warn us (cameras, etc). However having used similar convex style mirrors for my sports cars in the past, it is a game changer. You don't realize how much it helps until you have it.

Of course too much convex and it distorts the image/makes it uncomfortable to use. I don't know how these are specifically. Also it can be sketchy to snap in place because you can break it (I've broken a few in my day trying to install similar products).

Anyway, it is certainly a nice to have if the price is right. Can't comment on potentially losing out on dimming/heating functions.

Agree. It helps and is an absolute gamechanger in some cars—my previous car for example, '13 X5, which did not have cameras or blindspot radars. One thing users of such mirrors need to keep in mind: "objects are closer than they appear" warning is ever more relevant when it comes to convex mirrors.
