Stuck without drive modes.

I'm stuck without drive modes in ice and 6" of snow. I need my 4x4 snow mode, hard and soft reset not helping. An incomplete update appears to be the issue.

It shows tow modes but greyed out because no trailer hooked up. It's got to be a botched update.

How's the 0-60? Maybe you unlocked sport mode.

App shows conserve mode a little leaf with conserve wording..... which was previously not an option on my drive lists. So during the botched update it got stuck in front wheel drive conserve.

Try letting it do a 30 (45 minute) sleep cycle, that actually partially corrected a limited performance/suspension fault I had a couple months ago in which both resets weren't clearing and allowing me to drive beyond 32km/hr

The sleep cycle allowed me to get out of the off road mode I was in and increased my drive speed to 82km/hr.

It's worth a shot.

yeah its in my first sentence. I called RIVIAN the are trying to push the latest update again. I have little faith. Fuck. This car has been a nightmare from the first drive home when it broke in the first 17 miles. I'm going to start considering a buyback if any other issues happen. 4 weeks in the shop for the delivery headlamp failure. I still have a door that own't close once opened and a laundry list of post delivery broken / malfunctioning items.

Someone in one of the threads said pick up a trailer light wiring harness and connect it and it'll reset conserve mode after it detects it.

But the latest update supposedly fixed this...sounds like yours is stuck ?

If anyone is picking up a new R1, I always recommend to them that, if there are any issues upon delivery that would bother you if they weren’t fixed in a year, that you should just decline delivery. There’s always another R1 you can order

If anyone is picking up a new R1, I always recommend to them that, if there are any issues upon delivery that would bother you if they weren’t fixed in a year, that you should just decline delivery. There’s always another R1 you can order

Mine broke AFTER I picked it up and was driving home. Can't decline that. Door broke AFTER I got it back from the first failure. I only had the car a day before it was back in the shop for a month, so I didn't have the opportunity to document everything wrong (or that failed) within the first 2 weeks.

Rough…. This is the exact reason why I was particularly disappointed when they eliminated the 2 week return window. Lots of loss of goodwill.

If you have a trailer, plug that it. It should get you out of this mode.

Also, the latest software releases (2024.51.x) are supposed to have a software fix for this bug.
