Spare tire threaded rod cover

Being that’s it almost impossible to get the spare out without coming in contact with that threaded rod and scratching the wheels, has anyone came up with something simple to toss on the rod after unscrewing the Jack parts?

looking for my rotate all 5 homies

The rod comes out, read the manual. I made this same mistake my first 5 tire rotation, and learned from others here.

Yup, just unscrew it. I think I used that round plastic cap thing with one of the holes offset from the center

The hold down cap has a built in wrench to remove that bolt, or use a 9/32 socket. Either way, Do NOT remove spare without first removing bolt...oh the damage that can be done.
