I hadn't planned on switching wheels this soon, but a set of 20" Dark AT's fell into my lap and I couldn't pass them up. I honestly have no idea how to price these wheels, so I'm going to throw this out there and see how folks react. I am in the SF Bay Area and can meetup locally to show the wheels.

Details:

4 - 21" road wheels and tires with 1644 miles on the set
4 - custom made Rivian center caps (see my thread on sacrificing my aero covers to make them)
Satin Black powder coating was applied about a month ago and is flawless
Ceramic coating on the wheels was applied about 3 weeks ago
Standard rubber stems included (does not include TPMS sensor)

Asking price $4500 OBO

Hmm...I want these but don't necessarily need the tires (will use for a winter set). Will you ship? What tpms does rivian use?

I can ship them. Here is a picture of the Rivian TPMS sensor. Please DM me and we'll figure out shipping if you like.

Wheels are still available. I've had a couple of pings but no takers yet. Not a big pool of buyers for wheels with only 10k trucks in circulation. LOL

If you don’t mind me asking, how did you come upon the 20s? I’m getting my truck in a few weeks and would love to swap to those as well

Found someone selling the wheels on FB Marketplace. I ordered the Rivian specific Pirelli tires from the local America's Tire shop. I ordered a matching spare directly through Rivian Service.

I like what you did with the 21"s but I'm going to have my own set here soon. If I was getting the 22's like I originally wanted I would have picked these up.

20s, 21s, 22s ... what are the advantages and disadvantages of different tire sizes?

I'm a Prius and Dodge Dakota owner awaiting my R1T max pack in 2023, and I'm not an expert on the finer points of car technology, as I'm an environmentalist mainly concerned about fuel efficiency. (I use the Dakota mainly for short hauling of brush to and wood from my local yard waste site). My current configuration has the standard 21 inch road wheels.

I expect that my major uses of the R1T (which will be our only vehicle at that point) will be everyday road use, camping trips, long highway trips towing a small Camp365 foldout camper, and wood hauling. I've never off roaded but might do a little to be able to do some remote camping.

So with that kind of mixture, which tires should I be looking at and why?

Get the 21s then. They are the most efficient wheel/tire and they have been shown to be quite capable for light off roading. If you are doing heavy off roading or driving in heavy snow, then get the 20s. If you want the best performance, then get the 22s. If you want a Jack of all trades, then get the 21s.

Great breakdown. I ordered the Black 22s for an eventual R1S but I think I'll change to 21s and powder coat them. Looks similar and can't beat the efficiency especially over time as the battery degrades. I think the 20 Black AT's look the best on the R1T though.

Hah! Says who? While 21's aren't the most popular size....there are tons of options. Oem size is 275/55 21. There is no immutable law of the universe that says you have to put an exact size tire on a wheel. It's just a wheel after all. Quick search shows LOTS of 275/50 21 options . Yokohama geolandar is a nice all season that are snow rated that would fit perfect. I have them on other trucks and they are great in winter. As for me, I decided I'm gonna get an aftermarket set if 20s for my winter setup.

I am by now means a tire engineer so if one happens to be present, please correct me. I think the biggest issue that limits tires currently is the load rating. These trucks are significantly heavier than most even realize and I believe required nearly a 9k load rating due to the weight that can be thrown on a single tire in a corner. I believe that is what limits which tires are truly available from a safety standpoint.

Did you find a way to reprogram the computer and speedometer for the 20"? Where are they the same overall diameter?

I have a Service appointment in October and one of things is reprogramming the truck. I have noticed that my speedo is almost dead on now where is was 5-6 mph off with the 21's. So I might skip the programming.

The tires on the 20's are 34.1" tall, whereas the tires on the 21's are 32.9" tall. The 20's are an inch taller. You can use the website tiresize.com to compare tire sizes.
