Hey all. Came across this truck bed camper. Looks like they have a model for a 4.5ft bed and specifically mention the R1T. Would love to see one fit on an R1T. From the design it looks like you might still be able to access the spare (maybe depending on which model you choose).

Umm, these are cool, but holy eff they are expensive. I cannot possibly stomach the barebones model's price of 1/4th what I paid for my R1T in total. The top level trim is almost 40k!!!

No thanks.

Looks interesting...what the heck is that diving board thing out the back? Looks problematic. They mention a rain catchment system off the tent (not sure I'd want that anyway).

OK, putting aside the fact that the manual specifically says no slide in campers

,
there are weight issues:

. This matters when you look at real world loading. My sticker is typical if you have underbody shielding and the full size spare:
Rivian R1T R1S Skinny Guy Campers 1654634483137
. Remember that load includes all passengers and gear...water, food, clothing, a dog, maybe. I really wanted a solution like this for my R1T but have concluded that if I want a camper with similar amenities to the Skinnyguys, I need to tow one. Overloading the truck is a really bad idea.

I was actually more concerned about how that weight is loaded, but yeah I agree. I just thought it was interesting and share worthy since they specifically called out the R1T.

Would love to see this implemented but yeah no intention of ordering one.
