My electrician hardwired, but did 40 / 50 just because of parts. I have no idea how this all works, but I'm getting about 19-20 miles an hour. Any discernable benefit to go to 48/60?
48 amps will get you around 25 mph I believe.

I am getting consistent 29-30 miles per hour of charging with 48/60 setup

Tesla J1772 charger. 24' cord. Easy install to replace the identical (except for cord) Tesla charger I had before.

48A OpenEVSE I installed myself. Unit is small, software is great, hardware is open source and completely repairable from a component level, and the cable is excellent. So flexible and never tangles.

Here was how I configured my setup.

Installed the Rivian charger hard wired via 6ga cable (very small run to my panel) using a 60amp breaker.

Then mounted a place to store my cable closer to my garage door which I cut a hole through and installed a cap/door as a cable pass-through. (I also created an insulated foam plug to go into the cap when I'm not using it)

So now when I want to charge the truck I just pass the cable through my garage door. When I'm done I put it all away. 👍

This looks like a very clean setup. My only concern would be my daughter opening the garage door when the cable is run through for charging.

Getting excited for my R1S and it will be the first EV I have. I'm torn on if I should hardwire (for max amps) a charger in the garage or outside around the corner. It really depends on if the R1S will fit in my garage or not.

Anyway, I tend to have a lot of outdoor tools lining the sides of my garage and a large wood set of shelves in the back so looking for inspiration on clean installs for charges in the garage and thought it would be great to have a compilation of them here. Doesn't matter if it is the rivian charger, plug in, hard wired, etc.
I park outside the garage since wife has the one garage spot. 😂 so mine is outside some of us have to rough it.

Finished this a few weeks ago. I should get my R1S this Thursday. I wanted a receptacle in that corner so I ran 1" liquid tight with 3 x #6 and 3 x #12.

A couple of things about the charger. People have posted about turning off the 5 ghz to get it to connect to wifi. I did not have to do that. My SSID is the same for both and I just turned off broadcasting the 5 SSID. I also have a Guest wifi and also had to turn off that 5 SSID, even though the charger was not using that Guest network. Everything connects just fine after that and my 5 ghz devices still connect just fine. If that helps anyone.

Second thing. If you decide to play around with the ethernet port, be careful removing the cable. Mine would not release when pressing the tab for some reason. I removed the front plate for easier access. To be clear I have decades of experience with rj45's, ethernet cables etc.. I pulled the jack completely off of the board. I did not pull too hard. I suspect the two solder points on each side were not done properly. Could be just my charger but FYI.

I can't try the charger yet but it seems to be working fine.

Got a local electrician's help on this one (upper left in pic). Electrical scares me. Despite my best efforts, the garage is officially out of space.

Now this is interesting! I'm anticipating having a Tesla to go with my Rivian eventually and I would rather not use adapters on a regular basis, but I don't need to charge both cars at once. So I was thinking of installing 2 chargers which could be selected using a switch such as this:

What you have looks a bit more ... heavy duty, though!
