I had to run cable underground from the house to the garage. Electrician installed 125A panel in the garage to allow for a second charger or other use in future if needed. ESA inspector actually showed up to give this their official blessing.

Here's mine. Just need the Rivian delivery to happen now. Cord wraps around the yellow board so the kids don't trip on it when not in use. 6 gauge wire in 1" PVC conduit all the way to the box, 70' away. Hubbell 14-50R receptacle. Wolfbox charger. only a 50A GFCI breaker as the panel was already full to the max with other devices. Best part is i did it all myself, I only called an electrician to verify everything was done correctly and that's free if you call Mr. Sparky where I am, those guys are great.

Here is Mine. I have the unit hardwired into the 225 Amp Sub panel and the whole system is backed up with a 20KWH Battery system. The charger head I have mounted outside for easy access sine I don't get to Park in the garage...lol

I really like my Grizzle-E Duo charger up at the cabin. It just splits delivery equally until one vehicle says "full" then devotes full power to the remaining vehicle. It can be set at 16 / 24 / 32 / 40 Amps. I bought a J1772 to NACS adapter from Tesla for one of the plugs so my Tesla-owning friend and I can charge simultaneously. The frog lets me borrow his front porch to store the J1772 plug. I use the NEMA 14-50 plug version. The Midwest box works fine. The receptacle itself is labeled Eaton and the box is rated at 50A, but there's no temperature label on the receptacle. I'm paranoid and I've checked the plug several times while charging and it's never been hot...

So, let's establish something:
1) I am cheap.
2) I am handy with stuff.
3) I used to work as an electrician (back in my home country, like a life or two ago).

Considering the above plus that I got the 125 4-gauge Romex for dirt cheap at my local HomeDepot ($168), I DIY my hard-wire charger that I locally acquired at $380 brand-new from Facebook Marketplace.

Without further ado, here's the result:

It was a ~48ft wire run through a couple of walls and the attic above the garage, ruined my back by laying down on the beams while pulling cable (I had my 15yo son pushing from from the garage) but it was 100% worthy. Wired to a 60Amps breaker so 11.1kW of juice going to my R1T with no issues :)

I like your charging assistant, hope he doesn't get fried in there.

I got the Grizzl-e Avalanche edition just a couple feet from my sub panel. Worked out really well. I wanted just a simple dumb charger that was white that goes with the everything else in the garage.

However def jealous of some of your set ups. That Rivian charger does look awfully nice.

As I always tell my wife as she longingly watches the guy who plays Thor in the Marvel movies, looks are overrated.

We primarily use the Rivian Wall Charger on a 60 amp circuit. We also have a secondary 14-50 outlet on a 50 amp circuit. We have one son with a R1S and another son with a plug-in hybrid Jeep. There are times when I have to move Opal (our R1T) out of the way so that the boys can use up our electricity.

Hmph! Kids today! In my day, when we wanted to go cruise the strip in our EVs, we'd make our own electricity! ?

When I was in high school (a really long time ago), we went out "picking up girls" (only a term, no "picking up" actually ever happened) along Collins Avenue in Miami Beach. As I recall, I also had to pay for my own gas. My Dad would occasionally let me use his 1965 Dodge Coronet four door sedan. It had black wall tires and hub caps. It kind of looked like an unmarked Police car. I guess this possibly had some impact on the "picking up girls" part of our cruising experience.

I built a box around an existing lally column in my garage. The front holds the charger and the back is a storage closet. The wiring for the charger is behind it and goes up into the chase above the charger closet and into my sub panel just behind the rear garage wall. All built from scrap. Leftover slatwall panels give additional hanging space.

Charging up at my 90 year old adobe garage in New Mexico. Had to run power to it from the house. 100 foot run of 00 wire to a sub panel. Cut in a trap door on the original garage door to run the J1772 plug outside.
