Installed and connected, had to go with a 50amp hard wire due to panel capacity (40amp charge dip config). All ready for my delivery on 12/28!

*note - it’s installed high due to being over a chest freezer, the 30amp plug on the lower left is a 60gal air compressor (and part of the reason I couldn’t do 60amp).

I think eventually the insulation would break down. It's pretty durable, but repeated wear in the same spot can't be good. What if you cut a piece of PVC pipe about 6 inches long, split the side and slipped it on so it protects the wire?

Try an electrical supplier like Gray Bar, they might have it and most places will sell directly. Home Depot and Menards also sell "splice" kits.

Installed mine today... 6 AWG / 60A breaker, pulling a solid 11 kW. Install was super easy, works great.

My nephew, an electrician, connected the Rivian Charger to an existing 30 Amp hard wired subpanel in my garage. My garage was built during the 80's, and the garage subpanel offered only 8 AWG / 30A Breaker. So, I charge at 24A, but it works fine for me as I'm retired.
