A lot of the bumper pieces look like cheap plastic. I know the Rivian has its own issues there, but the flat plastic without texture looks awful. And that stainless steel is going to be a nightmare to keep clean IMO. Looks like it gets streaks like the older style stainless appliances did that were impossible to keep off.

It just doesn't even look like it should be in the same quality comparisons as a rivian.

note: click through to the 2nd tweet for additional pictures.
I just tried to click the X to close that tweet image and it instead opened twitter on me to that link. Terrible UI decision.

Chain brackets on that hitch don't look anywhere near adequate to safely control a near infinite mass that comes loose.

You're pretty dense. There are plenty of reports out there that Tesla goal is to produce 375k a year. Definitely wouldn't happen in 2024 since they need to ramp up. You can GTS for yourself.

Again, the part you keep missing is GOAL. Where they end up actually, no one knows, including Tesla.
You keep throwing around insults and accuse me of being “triggered” despite only being asked about the source of those numbers. It’s the same person who said it will function as a boat. Yet here you are accepting every word of it as fact.

You have a great day in fantasy land :CWL:

If you think its expensive to replace a Rivian Windshield...I can only imagine what the cost will be to replace that CT windshield...oh wait...it's bulletproof glass...

I have a R1T and have a reservation on the cybertruck #780,000 so would be years before getting it. I as do millions of other folks just do not agree with the ugly notion, I see it as an aerodynamic work of art. Many feel the rivian headlight are ugly too, I don't. People are just uncomfortable with too much change too rapidly. On this forum when I see folks bashing the cybertruck it is almost seems as if they are fearful that the cybertruck specs may be so incredible that they think it as ugly to justify going with another brand. I personally would welcome a truck that is not so delicate that I have to overthink where I park (my rivian) as to prevent door dings etc.. it might be a welcome change to be incased in rocketship grade stainless steel. To each there own.
and i thought my stainless steel appliances were hard to clean....that thing will be a nightmare.

That is some creative profiling. Now tell us about the psychology of cult leaders and the people who follow them :giggle:

you need some therapy my friend
We're not talking about the difference in storage because of the gear tunnel in the Rivian taking room away from the bed. It's all still storage. You cannot keep something on the dash of the Cybertruck under operation without it turning into a projectile or visual obstruction, directly or because of reflection. The length of the windshield takes away from potential storage in the frunk area.

Is this reported by any other sources? No offense to Electrek, but this reporting is pretty thin, especially since it's coming from a non-traditional source.
Quick googling shows that multiple sites reported the same thing, but can't really assert veracity of claim. Based on purported demand, a fairly high volume target makes sense.

Regardless, the point is that Tesla is forecasting high annual sales volumes. And the only way they can achieve it is by pricing aggressively. They are not gonna sell a bunch of trucks priced at $100k+. They have designed their truck to optimize costs and it will be reflected in the truck price IMO.

Maybe they’ll honor preorder pricing like Rivian did. Imagine the outcry if they didn’t.
0.00% chance they are going to honor the initially announced pricing & I'll gladly make a ban bet with anyone who wants to take the other side.

If Tesla makes excuses, the primary one will be that they have added more features since they originally announced the pricing, and say nothing about how many they have taken away.

I imagine that pricing will be high for the first year at least, we’ll over $100k and profitable form Day 1. That $40k model from years ago will never happen but in a few years a $65k trim level might be possible IMO. In any case I think the car wrapping industry is about to get slammed with custom CT work.
