Ah that's a bummer! I'm one of those sickos that has and android AND doesn't like cases. I was planning on ordering as soon as they became available but will hold off for now.

Would be cool if you were able to include/sell an adhesive "ridge" for folks in a similar boat.

There are metal ring stickers you can put directly on the back of your phone.

I'm an Android user and just bought a case to use when I'm in the truck in preparation for the next batch of G1 chargers being available.

Great news. Just so I understand what I’m getting in to. It sounds like if I am charging two phones this will take up both usb ports on my gen 2? So this means I would lose the gear guard ability? If that’s the case I think this might be a deal-breaker. Thanks for any info/insight.

Currently the plan is to use one on the inside and one from the rear. It hides nicely under the center console. Or you can just run one puck depending on how often people are in the vehicle with you. I wish I was clearer on how you can hide the cable under the edge on the install video.

Rivian needs to fix their USB ports. (The firmware needs to be updated) Once that happens, we will send out a solution that will use only one USB port.

Thanks for the clarification. Is Rivian aware of the issue and have they committed to fixing it? I definitely worry about solutions that depend on third parties. Would be nice to hear from them on an estimate for fixing the issue. Thanks.

Wassym has spoken about it. There have been multiple posts about it here and on Reddit, and I have personally spoken to the software team about it. But rivian and timelines don't go together often.

I have heard through the grapevine of a firmware update that will solve the issue. I believe they are working on a solution on how to make it possible to send out via remote update. (This is not official communications and could be just a rumor and I don't want to fan the flames of heresay. I truly believe they are trying to fix it but it's not easy.)
