If it rolls back and forth on command… and lasts… I can live with that!I put 70 lbs on the end of my V2 cover. It did bow. I don't think a full grown human should stand on it, but maybe at the edges it would be OK.

I can't compare it to a V1, but it is pretty quiet. I also didn't see anything unusual protruding into the gear tunnel. If it rolls back and forth on command… and lasts… I can live with that!
“cover reset sequence”? I didn’t have a V1 on my G1, but if pickup happens on time I will have a V2 on my G2 next week. Did the V1s have the ‘cover reset sequence’ process as well? V1 owners… comment?I can't compare it to a V1, but it is pretty quiet. I also didn't see anything unusual protruding into the gear tunnel.
Today when I was playing around it would not go home, and it thought the tailgate was farther away. It hit the tailgate and reversed direction and then stopped about a foot away. When I tried to send it home it stopped a foot away from fully open. I did the cover reset sequence and now it is working fine.
Yes, though I haven’t had to use it personally. It’s three quick button presses followed by a long hold.“cover reset sequence”? Echoing previous comment, that is indeed the reset sequence. I've never used it in 59806 miles, and have never had the tonneau serviced.“cover reset sequence”? If it is mechanically jammed this won't make a difference, but you could try resetting the truck with the "hard" reset procedure. I did that before I had the cover issue. I think maybe when I reset the truck, it corrupted the cover home position which the cover reset procedure fixed.I just picked up my 2025 R1T with v2 tonneau cover. The guy showed me how it closed on delivery and when I got it home, it wouldn’t open. The motor comes on, tries to move the cover, moves it 1/2 an inch, then sounds jammed and stops. This takes about 2 seconds.
I did the reset (hard and soft) to no avail. I put in a service ticket and the earliest they will come to my house is May 7. If I bring it to the service center, April 19.
I texted my “delivery specialist” who said I can call them but that might be the earliest they can look at it.
Any recommendations on how to get this fixed soon would be appreciated. I’m disappointed I was sold a defective cover and can’t use the truck bed properly for weeks…
Well I tried all I could think of and then my wife said why don’t you bring it back to the dealer and play dumb like you do t know how it opens. Have you tried pulling on it as it starts to come out? Maybe the extra force from your assistance will get it past the point of resistance.
OH COME ON!!! Really!!? On a V2! I love Rivian, but really folks... we can NOT head down this defective path again with V2 Tonneaus!!! Ideas like this are why we have our smarter halves. Good luck!Well I tried all I could think of and then my wife said why don’t you bring it back to the dealer and play dumb like you do t know how it opens. (She really knows how to emotionally wound a guy).
So i followed her advice, showed up this morning and asked for help. They were like oh yes you need to just push the button when it’s unlocked. Can you show me? Huh… that's weird…let me ask the technician to reset the alignment…
Waiting now to see what they can do…
Are you at all surprised? They haven’t built a tonneau that is consistently reliable yet.OH COME ON!!! Really!!? On a V2! I love Rivian, but really folks... we can NOT head down this defective path again with V2 Tonneaus!!! Hopefully (please!!) this is a one off issue...
As the saying goes “Hope springs eternal”… but as the other saying goes “Hope is NOT a strategy” :-(Are you at all surprised? They haven’t built a tonneau that is consistently reliable yet.
