2. It seems really short when he's in there. Height from the folded seats to ceiling made him really cramped. I don't remember being that cramped in a suburban or my minivan, but honestly I don't do that very often...

Was it just me, or did it seem like they attempted several times to touch a button on the lift gate (upper part) and it did NOT close as they were expecting?

Pretty sure she was just pointing it out. Didn't look like she applied any pressure.

Interesting that the buttons drop the 2nd row, but you still have to reach the seats to drop the 3rd row. I think it's going to be tough for short people to reach those levers for the 3rd row—but I'm hoping to see one in person at some point!

She had the lower tailgate open when she did it, which makes it more difficult. I suspect that when it’s up most people will be able to reach.

Not so much "powered" as released.

Right, it appears to be similar to the R1T’s tailgate - electric release, relying on gravity to actually lower.

This is great info! I’m pleasantly surprised to see the 2nd row folds from buttons in the rear cargo area. Also, with the 3rd row up there appears to be 2 to 3 times the floor space of the LR3/LR4 behind the 3rd row.

Yeah but my Disco I could raise and lower the seats with my phone.

Not too mentioned heated and AC seats 1st and 2nd row, with heater 3rd row seats.

I loved my Disco, wish the R1S had power seats.

I’m happy to finally see some content on the R1S, unfortunately this doesn’t answer any questions on space and 3rd row access.

Liking the 2-piece tailgate.

Most minivans and medium SUVs are just one-piecers.

This confirms what I have inferred from sillouhettes and listed dimensions: the cargo area is long, but short in stature.

The R1S has the same cargo capacity as my LR3, but is a good 6” shorter in cargo height.
