A really great interview and fills in a few missing details. I've been very confident in RJ and his vision for Rivian, but listening to it continued to give me even more confidence as his own was just infectious.

Started it in this morning on my drive in. Great so far. Think I'll listen to it again when I first take delivery :)

I just finished listening to this podcast. If the interview actually reflects who RJ is, then I really like this guy, have a good amount of confidence in him and glad that I have an R1T pre-order. Seems as though he has a fair amount of experience in “the real world “. There are, I think similarities between him and the other guy, but I think that RJ is definitely someone that I can identify more closely with.

"How I Built This" is one of my favorite podcasts, and the newest episode (posted today) features RJ Scaringe.

I haven't listened yet, hopefully it's good!
RJ really needs to hire marketing people. He's an interesting person. Half the difference between $TSLA and $RIVN is the "Steve Jobs" factor. This podcast is a prime example … why is it an audio pod-cast? For the time and effort required of the CEO, why not task an unpaid intern with an iPhone to video the interview, jump on an editing app and produce a long format video with b-roll and new footage from the factory, the R1S, the new vans, visuals from the Mercedes JV?

Initial vehicle quality is a real issue for Rivian. So is piss poor marketing.

Thanks for the link...listened on my commute home last night. Filled with cool random facts and it was fun to hear about Rivian's early history.

RJ must have been a great salesman when pitching his company to investors. He didn't have a vehicle to show, just a vision.

that would be unwatchable. They do have people who know how to do video.
I don't think I was suggesting an unwatchable video.
Yes, Rivian has produced some great videos (e.g. Tank Turn.)
What Rivian doesn't have is people who know the content and messages to put in those videos.
Ironically, RIVN is off the radar of investors … during a 5% drop in the market, the US economy belly flopping into a recession, TSLA down 4% in keeping with the market sentiment, nobody even bothered to sell RIVN … there's just no speculative positions in RIVN, there's only "dead money" underwater positions that are buried till RIVN climbs over some future threshold (probably close to the IPO strike.)
