Hello, I'm at my shop and I'm trying to order the lock cores for the bike mount. Didn't get a chance to see how many locks each bike mount takes. I was assuming 1 for each? They sell them in a 2 , 4 , and 6 pack. I called a store and they thought each mount takes 2 locks? I can take a look when I get home but I'm trying to find one today in time for the weekend.

Hey! The Yakima Highroad and Highspeed take 2 locks each. So I would purchase the set of 2 and you should be good from there.

2 locks for each bike mount or 1 for each bike mount?

2 cores per Highroad. 1 to lock the mount to the crossbars and 1 for the cable to lock your bike. Theoretically you could use the cable to lock the mount to the crossbar, but technically the bike mount takes 2 cores.

Thanks. One more question. I'm assuming the cables didn't come with the mount. I didn't see them.

Yes, they come with the mount. It pops or slides out of the small end of the mount. Not the end with the bars. There's a small metal tab that protrudes underneath the mount that the cable actually locks into when you need it, then the cable feeds back into the actual mount when not in use. It's a pretty clever system.
