When you say you are in for a R1T with your deposit, does that mean you know that's what you are going to configure when you can? I put a deposit down but it didn't ask me for which vehicle?
Rivian's website has changed a few times since I submitted my pre-order, but each time I've visited it since, including just now, I don't see how one can submit a pre-order without picking which vehicle. Perhaps you chose one and didn't realize it or maybe there is/was some path on the website that allows one to submit without picking one, but it really doesn't matter. Not sure what was (will be?) in your confirmation email but it should indicate you can easily change which vehicle you want when it comes time to place your order. Here's an excerpt from what mine said:

If at any time you decide you'd like to switch models, no need to cancel your order and lose your place in line — when it’s time to configure your vehicle, you’ll be able to switch between the R1T and R1S.
So picking a vehicle with your pre-order is more a survey for Rivian.

Thanks for the reply. That makes sense. Maybe I did pick one and I don't remember.

Yep, just a typo. My bad.
They more recently announced 300KW charging, but it is not clear if that will be in the initial deliveries or available later on. The EA charging network has had some reliability issues early on, but they do seem to be getting better. The credit card readers and the Apple Wallet almost never work, but the App usually does. Hopefully the Rivian will provide the automatic vehicle ID for billing, my Bolt does not have that feature.

Congratulations on your wait time !

Just because I put a deposit down yesterday doesn’t mean I havnt been waiting just as long. This truck has been on our radar since November 2018.
I just wasn’t so quick to put my money down and lock it in . I wanted to see the bronco first. I had had fingers crossed for a hybrid there, but No such luck ! So yeah with the announcement yesterday pushing this back even farther makes it the longest wait EVER !

HAHAHA. Yeah I get it brother. I just was just joking with ya. This wait has been tough. And yes that Bronco looks awesome. I had a new one back in 1996...whew..I'm old AF. LOL I'm very impressed with the new Bronco line and like you am disappointed with no electric drive plan in place. Hang tight..only another 12 months for us now. LOL

Late to the party! (story of my life! LOL)

Put a deposit down on the R1T. Wanted a R1S, but my wife said the R1T would make more sense.. So thats what I did. Now the long wait begins.. I just hope my GMC makes it to then. It only has 379k miles on its original engine.

Congratulations and welcome to the Forum. Better late than never. You have about 1000 hours of reading to familiarize yourself with all the threads, so I'll leave you to it. Don't worry you will have plenty of time before your R1T is ready.

I’ll just summarize it to save them time

Rivian is great/ Rivian is doomed
I want CarPlay and AA. / I don’t care about CarPlay and AA
I want my truck now / I want it when it is ready
Range is king / charging curve is king
Covid has had a big impact on deliveries / Covid is no excuse

** These 2 are odd as everyone seems to agree
Rivian needs to communicate better
Rivian has a strange understanding with the definition for soon

I think that sums it up, feel free to read through the threads at your leisure but you should be all caught up

Maybe I should have said, long time lurker, and have read a lot!

I agree the AA and CP is a big miss for them, just from the safety standpoint. I see where they are coming from, but from a logical standpoint, it doesn't make sense.

Logistically, don't get me started there. I am 3rd in the management chain at my company, which happens to be a trucking company. I know about all the issues in the trucking industry, and the problems Joe Q Public doesn't understand.

I could post other idealogies about it, but my purchase of a Rivian was not for the average reasons, and those would probably be for it's own thread. I thought I saw a introduction thread around here?

You forgot the most important battle:

The R1T/R1S has enough cupholders/My soccer team can't store all their drinks in the backseat. ?
