I believe S-1 said exclusive to that specific variant, but they can sell other vans. Most outlets won't pick up that nuance though unfortunately. This is part of why it's risky to give a partner like Amazon exclusivity in your tech stack.
Clear case of Rivian not being able to supply Amazon needs quickly enough.Amazon started their delivery service in 2018, so is it a fair assumption that some of those vehicles are apporaching 200k miles or more, and will need replacing in the next year or two? Rivian won't be able to meet the demand? ?
yeah, ...spool up the R1T/S delay email (# X)...or Rivian can just continue with their MO and let the delivery windows arrive and fly-by without a mention...lol...they have us as a captive buyer.JB's way of saying "Where are my f##@!!! Vans" . Don"t count on any additional Rivian resources being diverted from van production for a while.
I took this photo in April. Not sure who the manufacturer is.I don't think it was every realistic to think Rivian would supply all of Amazon's van needs. Amazon already bought some EV vans in Europe from Mercedes, too.
