So, I’m getting my full size spare tire/wheel (20” AT) delivered to my house, tomorrow. That’s kinda cool. I had a question regarding reduced regen on longer grades. So, I posted it on my app. In short order I received a call from service to answer my question and put my mind at ease. At that time, I mention that I had a couple of minor body alignment issues, that I thought the tire delivery person could look at. Then, I started getting calls from service people to clarify the issues and set up an appointment to take the truck into the SC. In fact, I was getting about two calls per day. Even got one at 8:00 last night. I mean, these people were on it! I am impressed! Of course, I was told the first available appointment was on “Halloween”. That’s literally what she said. That was a little spooky 😂

Anyway, I don‘t know how this will all play out and I’m not anxious to take it to the SC, an hour away. But, just wanted to let people know Rivian seems to be trying. I don’t know any other auto manufacturer that would be nearly as responsive. With all the whining on these forums, it’s easy to think the worst. So far, that has been far from my Rivian R1T experience 😊

Yes, I'll second this. Had a window issue when I got my truck. Called, they picked up in 45 seconds and I had a home service visit (20 miles from Miami SC). Guy came out a couple hours early on appt day. Took care of window, checked a couple other things at my request and was very knowledgeable.

I expected the worst after reading these forums but it was as good a customer experience as I've ever had with a car maker. Understand that luck will vary.

I am not one to complain about fit and finish issues (or even notice them to be frank). I think some of the backlog at service centers is due to early adapters being more interested/observant in their vehicles than most.

Less than a month is pretty good for them getting you in. Rivian is very responsive which i like. Unfortunately they need to open more service centers. The wait time is at least 3 months here in Maryland. Our service center and the folks that work there are great... but they are overwhelmed.

When you get all those calls, make sure all the people are talking to each other. I called for a service appointment and they called me back and arranged it. Then a week later they called back to say they had to reschedule it because the parts were on back order (the issue was extremely minor things....rubber along the bottom, pillar on drivers side loose). So, I rescheduled and then a day later they said "hey, we can get a mobile appointment for these issues but the alignment issue you have to bring it to a SC. So, I scheduled, and then another Rivian guide called to confirm the first appointment I had that was canceled. Then someone called the next day to confirm an appointment that I never made......LOL. So my wife called the manager of the SC we got to (Sacramento) and we all laughed about the phone calls. He said "If anyone calls, tell them to call me at Sacramento". One other Rivian person called and we told them exactly that.

Rivian SC and people are AMAZING

Yeah, just got my spare tire, delivered this morning. The service guy also fixed a loose tail gate and said he would follow up on a couple of other minor issues. I was able to pick his brain on some other general Rivian stuff, including my somewhat local SC. All in all, a very good experience!!

Service is definitely getting better. Dropped mine off this morning and they had another R1T exactly like mine waiting as a loaner. No more Uber credits to Enterprise for a crappy ass Ford Fiesta. Starting to run like a well oiled machine (that might be the wrong pun here)!

With over a year of ownership and 15,000 miles on my R1T, I have been to the Denver SC for a suspension bolt recall and an oil seal on the rear diff, The SC team was spot on with support and answering my questions every time. The Rivian forum seems to have a bunch of crybabies with opinions and complaints very different from my experience or any other Rivian owner I have met. (Denver area has a lot of Rivian's)
I have owned many vehicles, over 45.... and several other EV's to include GM and Tesla. This truck puts a smile on my face every time I drive it with the performance, simplicity, reliability, and comfort.
If you are new to EV's, there is some growing pains and limitations ICE vehicles don't have. The nation wide charging network is unreliable and will slow down your cannonball road trip. I consider the longer charge stops on road trips an adventure because usually after 4 hours of driving, I can use a stretch and a comfortable sit down breakfast, lunch or dinner.
I charge at home so every time I jump in my Rivian, there is 300+ miles adventure available. My biggest issues with my Rivian is the walk up door unlock sensing (an early Tesla issue too)and when I drive a ICE car, I continue to walk away forgetting to turn the motor off and leaving it unlocked sometimes with the key in it ??? I reserved a R1S so the wait begins because I really want another Rivian.

I sure agree with it putting a smile on one’s face when driven. I have also owned a bunch of cars, of all varieties (vans, p/u’s, 4x4 SUV’s, wagon, sedans and sports cars, including a Corvette) I don’t recall any that I just couldn’t wait to go drive - like anywhere. I just want to drive the darn thing. It’s like a drug. In three weeks, I’ve put almost a 1000 miles on it, going absolutely nowhere, just driving. Probably not the way to save the planet 😂 Maybe I need some counseling. Again, all the people I’ve had contact with at Rivian have been wonderful.
