Has anyone walked in at the Bay area SC recently? I will be traveling for work and be in the area and would love to check out a truck while I'm in town. Wondering if anyone has had a good walk in experience with the staff there.

Boston/Chelsea SC making progress. Lifts are installed and the crews are working on a Sunday.

Was hoping to see a dozen or so R1Ts in the lot but no luck.

I finally had a chance to drive over to the Chelsea service center, hoping to finally see a truck for the first time, but no dice. Several were working on the building though and it is definitely coming along, plenty of nice lifts inside!

No trucks yet, but it looks really close to being done.

Went to see the service center on Johnson Avenue in Brooklyn today. There were about 50 R1Ts in the outside lot. It was great to see most of the available colors (no RC or CY trucks.) It was also good to have an opportunity to see all the wheel options in person, which solidified my wheel configuration choice.

I plan on driving by today, but I'm pretty sure that beyond the new transformer for additional electric service to the building, not much if anything has happened. The interior of the building has be demo'd, so I don't know what is keeping the contractor from starting work on the inside.

Looks like several of their permits are still showing as 'Under Review' with City of Portland, including their Commercial Building Permit, Mechanical Permit, and PDOT permit for Public Street Improvements.

This is good to see. Do they allow people to walk around that parking lot? Do you know how the NYC hub is going as well as that is geographically close to the service center.

It isn’t really “open” For walking around but I told the nice Rivian employee who came out to talk to me that I have a R1S reservation and he let me look for a few minutes.

That is good to know.
Rivian should put on their website where their open centers are and soon to open ones. Also there should be more than one hub open by now.

That's exactly what I was thinking. Unfortunately, that's how things seem to work in PDX.

I stuck my head in the door but the only guy there was a nice security guard who came out and chatted with me for five min.
He’s a contract security guy not working for Rivian. I meandered around the lot on my way back to my car but he said prolly not a good idea to linger too long.
