Hey Guys just an update the wheels do move! You have to use your finger and break the glue seal. Once that happens the wheels move freely. Just went over it with the manufacturer because of the AT wheels coming. Happy holidays everyone - Matt

Thanks for the update. I just tried this and 1 wheel broke free from the axle, but didn’t really spin freely. Also the caliper spins with the wheel.

So….I took the base off and found the wheels, axles, and calipers were all glued together, and axles glued to the base.

If you want the axle to spin, I recommend unscrewing the base (3 screws) and using a razor to cut the glue from the metal axle. It does look like if the initial glue were used a little more carefully on the axles, the calipers could remain stationary and only have the wheels spin when glued to the axles. I say this, because there is a notch that appears it would keep the calipers in the correct place, if the axle could spin freely inside of it. In my case it can’t as the glue is inside the hub of the caliper.

With some additional time and precision, one could probably get the calipers to remain in place and the axle to spin freely.

Still a very detailed model 👍

Is there a list somewhere of what combinations of R1S are still available?

I was holding out for an R1T, but it's seeming like that may still be a ways out.
Just email me and I’ll let you know. Right now we are waiting on the tariffs.

How hard would it be someone to disassemble one and use their touch-up paint pen to recolor it with genuine Rivian paint?

I'm not very artistic though - I should probably just wait for the next batch.

Hi guys: a quick update do to the tariffs I’m being hit with a 20% increase in prices because the models are made in China. So that means the next colors of the R1S will cost me 48,943.00. Just letting everyone know. It might not be worth it to produce the next colors. I’m working with the manufacturer on other alternatives. If anyone wants one of the existing models please reach out because I might have to skip the rest of the colors and focus on the R1T.
