IMO,

1. too expensive
2. too crowded segment, eg luxury sedans
3. No good answer to “why lucid?” Not sure what sort of emotional connection it’s trying to establish with the consumers
Nor adventurous enough.

I agree, but yet the stock market values Lucid higher? 🤷

This graph might be more an indicator of production progress than it is of demand.

Lucid has plenty of supply available. They’re giving active discounts to try to clear them.

Lucid needs thier Gravity SUV on the market asap. The US households with $$ to spend are more likely to gravitate to SUVs vs sedans. Rivian and Fisker, imo, made the right bet by chosing the truck/SUV route as thier first product offering.

Every brand needs their “why me?” answer. I can’t figure out what Lucid’s is
They have excellent efficiency and range and subjectively a good design. Their problem was doing a sedan first but then all companies make missteps - RJ started with a roadster before, thanks fully, pivoting.

They just don’t have that highly prized half shaft tocking sound that says “exclusive.”

I mean, as a first-time EV convert, my biggest gripe was they were all small boring cars. Tesla solved that by making a luxury model and then an SUV. I definitely considered a Model X and Model Y, but never a Model S or 3. Sedans really aren't for people that have families and all the stuff that gets dragged along with them. SUVs or minivans (and wagons) are really the only choices for families. As an added benefit for SUVs lots of people think they'll need a lot of space in the future and so they buy them over a sedan. The market for sedans is limited and as your only model, you are shooting yourself in the foot.
