Hey! I saw this short video on "X" today and I thought they were pretty cool retractable side-steps .
I called the company hansshow and they do not have anything like this even though the vid had their name on it.
So I'm pretty disappointed because I've been looking for something like this for a while.
Can anyone share information where I might purchase a product like these retractable side steps? I attached a link to the video.
Thanks, Dennis

All I'm looking for is a single step on both sides of my truck not the whole 5 foot running boards. If true… That sure is a misleading 4 second video in my opinion. the poster should have shown all 3 moving mounts then.
The post says he still has to install the boards though lol

Only one of the three is powered, so only the powered one moves when the long board isn't attached.

I suppose you could just buy the kit, and only install the motor mount shown in the video.

Has anyone tried these Hansshow electric running boards or any other electric running boards? Or any wisdom regarding electric running boards?

It's all mute now anyway… I chatted with the Bellevue Washington service center and they do not install aftermarket accessories. They do not have a recommended list to do such an install. This also voids my warranty because of the electronics that need to be attached and connected to my R1T.

My dad has some that pop out on his truck. They're pretty sweet, I imagine you'd have to get used to it. I find myself stepping past them when I get out of his truck. They're pretty quick though. Idk the brand. I personally don't think I'd buy auto ones because more parts more problems and the price, but if I bought a truck that came with them, I wouldn't be sad.

Yea, it would be a DIY for sure. Also, I don't think they can void your entire warranty for something like that but they probably would deny any 12v battery related warranty claims (provided it connects to 12v). I like the idea of the electric ones, but I would be okay with normal running boards

If you do come across the brand, maybe you could post it?

Sure, he drives a Silverado though, so it may not be helpful. I'll shoot him a text

Just my wishful thinking but I think it would be great if some manufacturer could produce electric side steps, retractable, that are battery powered, self-contained, small lithium batteries.

Curious as to the use case for this idea. You would presumably have to wire them to the door switch so that they could operate on door open/close, so once you're doing that, why not add a power connection?

He literally says he still needs to install the running boards.
As others have said, you could buy a generic version and make your own step for it. Most of these work by having one powered mount and 1 or 2 passive mounts. You could buy a set and only install two (one powered, one passive) and make your own mount that goes between them whatever size you want.
As far as it voiding warranty, it wont. These have been installed on thousands and thousands of vehicles. It is up to the mfg to prove that the steps were the direct cause of something breaking.
