In a move that surprised no one at all, who has read any of MotorTrend's R1T coverage to date.

Congrats to the Rivian team. What they've done so far is so impressive.

Did the Hummer beat it 0-60 and in the ¼ mile, or do they mean towing acceleration? Regardless, a truck faster then the R1T, now that's impressive.

Did the Hummer beat it 0-60 and in the ¼ mile? If so, that's actually impressive.

IIRC the Hummer hit 0-60 in 3 seconds flat, while the R1T did it in 3.2. I don't know that I saw any MotorTrend quarter mile numbers.

Note: The Hummer uses a stupid launch mode - Watts to Freedom (WTF Mode) - to get to 3 seconds flat. You can just do that from a stop light in a regular operating mode.

I have to admit that I do like the name WTF Mode, though.

Wonder if Rivian will do a "Billy Goat" launch mode OtA for their vehicle's.

Noes drops down, battery pack warms, and car makes goat sounds, then lunches.

TESLA has Cheetah Mode... Just saying... The R1T is as sure footed as a mountain goat.
