Driver probably was fumbling with the touchscreen trying to find a setting that would've normally been handled by a button without having to take his eyes off the road.

this might be expensive though.Man that is crazy. Pretty light damage to the Rivian compared to the other vehicles.

Policeman: "and where the hell did this kitchen come from!? There's titanium bowls everywhere!"Policeman to driver: "what's the make and model of the vehicle"
Driver: "it's a Rivian R1T"
Policeman: "ok, and what's the make"
Driver: "Rivian"
Policeman: "I got that part, but who makes it"
Driver: "Rivian...."
Policeman: "ok wiseguy turn around and place your hands on the vehicle."
Good catch. That could definitely be the cause of an accident like this. Go to steer and the front wheels french fry.this might be expensive though.
One wonders, did the tie rod snap before or after coming over the bermthis might be expensive though.
One of the comments on that video ... "He thought he was driving the Porsche Taycoff"I mentioned this to my wife the other day. The period between mass EV adoption and majority autonomous driving vehicle adoption is going to have some wicked accidents. Everyday drivers wielding vehicles that weigh 3 tons capable of accelerating at supercar speeds. Those senior citizens driving through the storefront of the Farmer's Market are going to make it out the back wall now as well.
Allow me to present Exhibit A: Porsche Taycan Whoops Crash at Home
Not exactly the kind of off-roading the driver had in mind.
