I am just the opposite. I find the R1T more useful than the suv form. With the frunk, gear tunnel, and under bed storage it has as much or more dry storage than a normal 2 row suv. Plus more with a tonneau cover or a very useable bed when it’s not covered.I don't think there are a lot of people who can and want to spend $90k for an EV truck when an R1S seems more useful. Combine that with how many people actually plan on taking their vehicles off pavement and R1T definitely a niche vehicle.
I don't know what the R2 specs are, but smaller/less powerful/less off-road capable/cheaper will probably appeal to the masses.
Maybe Rivian is upgrading the onboard chargers and they are trying to clear out all the 48A EVSEs first.A clear indication that the R1T is losing its popularity now.
They are certainly trying to clear out all the Bosch motors. This isn’t speculationMaybe Rivian is upgrading the onboard chargers and they are trying to clear out all the 48A EVSEs first.
I am also one of the opposites. I just recently put my deposit down for an R1T and I saw this email come over earlier. I spoke to a representative about it and they have the same exact configuration I was going to custom build in the R1 shop ready to reserve now. I was concerned if I built one that I would get different features being it was the beginning of 2024 by the time it was expected to be delivered (4 months or less). However, after speaking to him, it is the same exact R1T. So, I may be pulling the trigger on the 1-6 week availability instead of waiting.I am just the opposite. Not sure I follow? Do the Bosch motors have a bad reputation? Are they going to lower price for next gen quads with the Enduros? They are certainly trying to clear out all the Bosch motors. This isn’t speculation
The Bosch is really expensive from what I understand, and it's mostly just that. Rivian doesn't want to pay Bosch for those motors which I assume means they want to make their own quad motorNot sure I follow? Do the Bosch motors have a bad reputation? I felt like I royally screwed up in getting the R1T over the R1S.I am just the opposite. I find the R1T more useful than the suv form.
