True, except for all the additional fuel used at startup to heat the cat and warm up the coolant. Cabin heat isn't the silent killer of range that everyone calls it out to be.Except in winter, then that waste energy is cabin heat at little/no cost to efficiency.
While of course I dislike paying more, if it encourages more stations to be built, I consider it an early adopter tax. Most early adopters still get the overwhelming majority of their energy from charging at home.
Of the 3,936 kwh I've put into my truck since last June, only 238kwh have been DCFC, so ~94% at home or free destination chargers.
