Is there any news on when the rivian key fob is going to be available? Store shows out of stock.
I recently picked out R1S Gen 2. It’s kinda annoying to open my phone to lock and unlock door.

Paak doesn't work for me either. On paper it sounds good and it worked on my Tesla Y. But I work about 8 feet from my car at my bakery. Its the only shady spot, and living in Palm Springs, you look for shade come the summer time. Everytime I'm getting supplys by the back door my car unlocks and turns on the lights. So I had to turn off the feature. I did that by selecting my work address as my home and my home address as work in the car.

Rivian can provide a couple of solutions for me.

1) let me buy a FOB (out of stock)
2) give the software option where I can ignore Paak at HOME and at WORK.
3) use UWB so the R1S only unlocks when I'm 3 feet away (not sure if they have UWB setup)

I'm guessing Tesla had the same problem, but the door handles didn't pop out (model Y) and the mirrors stayed folded in. So one never knew. No lights and so on. But I'm guessing if somebody tried the doors they would have been unlocked.

Did you ask at the service center? They sometimes have stock even when the online store doesn't, and they can sell you other things too that aren't even in the online store. You can also frequently find these for sale from private sellers here in the forum or elsewhere online, but be sure to get a Gen2 FOB because they're different than the Gen1 FOBs.

As an aside, the question is not about PaaK. Why call on the OP to justify the need of a FOB, instead of trying to help address the question that was asked?

Because there are a surprising number of people that buy these vehicles without even knowing what features are available. He very well could not have known that PAAK was even an option.

I'm aware of PAAK—I actually turned it off since I'm parked at home. It kept unlocking every time I walked by, and I didn’t want to keep waking it up. My 2-year-old even figured out that if he brings my wife's phone close to the car, it turns on the headlights—LOL! 😄

Thanks! I had no idea! I’ll give them a ring and see if they’ve got any in stock. #teamfob old-school but reliable… like a flip phone! :)

Thats awesome! I turned PAAK off at home for that reason. Got tired of working in the garage and hearing it lock and unlock outside.

Got it. Yes, that is annoying. We have a condo (also in Palm Springs, coincidentally) and it locks and unlocks over and over as we walk around when parked there. Our Tesla doesn't do this -- they have it figured out.

It would be nice to have an option to not only turn off the auto lock/unlock while at home but also have a setting for work and/or favorites.

Apart from how frustrating that may be, you're baguets are making me hungry, Andy! ;-)

I've got a related problem: Got a new iPhone, and although the Rivian app imported, it won't pair as a key card now. I've heard that others have had this problem. -- I guess I'll start a separate thread on that so's not to hijack this one.

Same here! I had been checking the Gear Shop each day but didn’t have a chance to do so today until seeing your post. TU much!
