Rivian filed Amendment No. 1 to the S-1 on October 22.

https://sec.report/Document/0001193125-21-305592/d157488ds1a.htm

Don't know how much new information has been included, but I did find this interesting tidbit in page 1 (Prospectus Summary):

As of September 30, 2021, we produced 12 R1Ts and delivered 11 R1Ts, and as of October 22, 2021, we produced 56 R1Ts and delivered 42 R1Ts.

Clearly they're taking their time with production, and given they've delivered so few vehicles it isn't surprising that they are mostly (or exclusively) going to employees.

Let us know if you find any other interesting new details!

Wow, 2 per day is MUCH slower than anyone expected! I was thinking 10 per day would be slow but possible.

at the current rate, not even employee orders will be filled by the end of the year.

The part that surprised me was that they were planning on raising only $100 mm. This is less than a month’s run rate. Or assuming a $80 bb valuation about 0.13% of the company.

I don’t think assuming a steady state is reasonable. It’s called a ramp for a reason. It will accelerate over time, the question is when? Tomorrow? Mid-November? Next year? It’s like watching a rocker on the launch pad 1/10th of a second after liftoff. It’s going 5 meters/second, so you calculate that it will take 20,000 seconds to reach 100km. The rocket would almost certainly run out of fuel before reaching 100km. Similarly if Rivian doesn’t accelerate their deliveries they will run out of money and close long before they deliver 40,000 cars at 2/day.

That’s just a placeholder, they’ll update the amount prior to the IPO. Most likely the amount will be several billion.

Damn, this does not give me any confidence they will hit the 'Starting January 2022' for R1S.
Starting to look more like 3Q of 2022, and that is being optimistic !

That quoted paragraph goes on to say that R1S deliveries will start in December 2021. I expect those first deliveries will be to employees and investors as is the case with the R1T.

The following was in a Crains Chicago Business Article

"Founder and Chief Executive Officer R.J. Scaringe may maintain control over Rivian through a class of stock giving him 10 votes per share compared with the single vote allocated to each regular share, the amended filing said. It didn’t specify the percentage of voting power or total shares that Scaringe will own.

To attract retail investors, Rivian plans to allocate a portion of its IPO to the personal finance startup SoFi Securities LLC’s online brokerage platform, the company said. Rivian also disclosed the issuance of more than $1 billion in nonconvertible debt securities in three-year period. "

Very impressive numbers! At that rate by 2060 they will have delivered all the Reservations.

It says starting January 2022 for me, maybe because I am in Canada.

Yeah definitely, if they are going to meet that target it is going to be with employees!

It’s the same for us in the US. I’m just quoting what they said on the amendment.

Oof those are some painful numbers as far as production and deliveries go but it gives me the feeling that they will "get it right".

So, if we look at the amended numbers and compare to social media, most of these deliveries are not posting to social media. They are invisible to the forum and this they obviously must not count, right??

point being, let’s stop thinking that those of us here have any clue what is going on in terms of the business progress

I would say the forum bunch has done a pretty good job tracking down delivery considering Bezos, the Rivian board members, and high level executives probably aren't going to post on Facebook.
The mandatory information flow from the IPO S-1 is a beautiful thing. I bet RJ cringes every time he has to publish material information.
