Rivian Crossbars + Rivian / Kuat Piston SR Questions

I just purchased and installed the Rivian Crossbars and the Rivian co-branded Kuat Piston SR.

I have the Kuat mounted to the crossbars and it looks great but I have a couple questions.

1) The Rivian Kuat came with some quick mount plates for the crossbars. Even though Rivian Customer Service said it came with everything I need to secure the rack to the crossbars, there are no built in locks. They suggest in the online manual to purchase matching Adventure Keys. Has anyone installed the key/locks onto the Rivian Kuat quick mounts? I don’t see instructions anywhere to do so. I ordered a set of matching Adventure keys to my crossbars. It comes with 4 locks. How many are needed for the quick mounts? The rack also needs one new lock…

2) The Rivian Kuat has a lock for the security cable that secures the bike on the rack to prevent theft. It extends from the rack and back into the center of the rack where there is a keyhole / locking mechanism without an actual lock. How easily is this dummy lock replaced with an Adventure Key lock?

I am pleased with the quality and product, but not with the lack of compete thought behind securing the rack to the crossbars and the bike to the rack, out of the box.

You've likely moved on from this, but here is a pic for others so they find them easily. Also, the lock cylinder for the cable lock was a bit finicky to switch out.

Anyway, I'm all loaded up for an evening ride as the weather here has finally gotten above 45! The rack appeared easy to load up and was stable at highway speed.

How did you remove the Rivian plug from the Center of the Rack? I called Kuat, and they said to call Rivian, and Rivian said to call Kuat. It is a Yakima plug, so Rivian plugs can work, but it is not well documented. I bought two of these from Rivian at $575 each, and it is frustrating that they do not come with a lock. The cable provided built into the rack is very small.

I removed the plastic dummy core using a metal pick.

How easy was it to remove the locks that would secure the crossbars? Thank you by the way, I was having the same issue and your post was the only one I found that would address this. For the cable lock I called Kuat and they sold me a kit. I just ordered the locks from Rivian to use the on the cross bar mounts.
