Weāve road tripped 2,000 miles in the first month of ownership, including a week long work trip to Florence, SC and charging hasnāt been an issue anywhere. We have a Rivian charger at home and on the road there have been plenty of fast chargers. We had some concerns about charging as well, but after owning the truck this has become a non issue. This is the exact color combo I would want. I'm just waiting for Rivian and charging to mature before I place a reservation again for a R1T with dual motor and max pack.
I probably should have explained more in my first post. I tow a 3000lb trailer/boat 151 miles one way, according to plug share thereās one 62.5kW charger on the route. I donāt feel like stopping to charge for 30 min every single time I make the drive. Iāll just wait it out.Weāve road tripped 2,000 miles in the first month of ownership, including a week long work trip to Florence, SC and charging hasnāt been an issue anywhere. If youāre able to have a home charger that does help, plus Level2 charging doesn't stress the battery like Level3 fast charging.
Looks fantastic clean and in the direct sunlight.Took an R1S First Mile Drive in Phoenix on 2/3.
Took a quick photo of a Rivian Blue R1S in highest setting, a photo of that same R1S and R1T (in Kneel mode) side by side, and the 3rd photo is my R1T after my mobile detailer left this morning. The sun angle made the color pop.

I absolutely LOVE Pismo beach. I canāt wait till I get my Rivian as Iām planning to head to the dunes there! Great pics!Took an impromptu day trip from SoCal to Pismo after seeing another member on the dunes. Charged at the Target in Santa Maria and had plenty of pack left for a few hours in the dunes.
I was so underprepared for this. Bought a whip at the local liquor store and had snacks and a shovel. After seeing a few campers stuck in the sand I realized straps are a must.
With the truck in sand mode and air'd down to 25psi it handled everything I was willing to throw at it. I'll say the sounds and power delivery reminded me of playing with RC buggies.
Range on the sand was a solid .76. Took about 50 miles of range in the time I was there.
Next time I'll bring more than a shovel and be more adventurous. I'm not sure if there is a group page where we can announce a trip to help coordinate random meet ups. I definitely would have enjoyed seeing some R1's out there
Lastly I was pleasantly surprised how many people stopped me on the sand and asked about the truck with a few asking to take pictures. Airing up in the parking lot always gets some looks and showing the onboard off makes the task go by that much quicker.
Till next time.
