Rivian app using excessive phone battery

Not sure if it is just me, but happened to check the battery usage on my phone and the rivian app's background activity is listed as responsible for 15% of my phones battery usage. This is compared to 2% for the Tesla app. I hope this is something that gets fixed in a software update.

15% is so amateur! I think the root cause is too long of a BT range. The phone remains connected to the truck when the phone is in the house.

haha, wow. yeah, that probably makes sense. Maybe can dial that down in a software update. Our garage isnt even close to the bedroom where my phone would be the majority of time home. Clearly tesla does not have such a large range.

Clearly! Zero issues with the Tesla app here either.

Same here. 11% Rivian, less than 1% Tesla. 11% is a lot of battery usage...

I have some bad drain on my Galaxy S20, the only way for me to not have an impact is to go into the settings for the rivian app and change the battery usage to "Restricted" which keeps the battery usage down when the app is in the background. The down side is sometimes the proximity unlocking doesn't work so I have to open the app to reconnect to the truck and unlock, but it beats having keep my phone from loosing charge all the time. I hope they address this in the next app update.

mine is using a lot of phone battery but that is my fault as a newbie I keep looking at the app to watch the trickle charge session.

When I know I am not going to use the truck I kill the app. I complained about this in another thread the battery usage is heavy for this app
